About this ebook
One family takes it upon themselves to outlive as long as possible. Finding a cure would be a grand notion, but when ones life is hanging in the balance, survival outweighs most ideals. It is mans most basic of instincts- to make it to the next day, free of harm.
Release revolves around the concept of not writing an epic drama. The only fighting that should be happening should be directed towards the true threat. Real issues like maintaining weapons and avoiding/ treating injury are far more meaningful. In the end, your foe doesn't care about your feelings, your wants, or desires. They seek the one thing you can only give once
Fast pace action, realistic adaption, and a down-to-earth setting lies within the story of Release- the tale of a man and his family navigating the ruin that was once their home.

When trying to find a job doesn't go anywhere, one must find another outlet of productivity. During the beginning of September 2010, Spencer McAllister struck a fantastic idea- write a book. Conceptually, an easy task, but this would generate a hunger to create, for lack better of better words, an awesome novel. Having more than enough time on his hands, that hunger manifested itself in a gripping and highly entertaining zombie tale. While it may lack the graceful inscription skills of learned writers, Spencer is able to tell a no-nonsense story of survival. What it may lack in extensive detail, it makes up for it in action. However, this isn't just how he likes to write his books, but also how he lives his life. Residing in the lovely city of Seattle, Washington; Spencer tries to live each day to the fullest. While work may preoccupy a lot of his time, storytelling is an ongoing journey for the writer. It isn't easy to stay focused on said task, but passion oozes from this young man. Prepare to dive into enticing worlds from this up and coming author, Spencer McAllister.

Inspiration
-When I wrote this book, I knew that I obviously wasn’t the first person to use the zombie theme. However, I think that my outlook on the zombie apocalypse scenario is…refreshing.
-As far as inspiration goes, movies such as zombieland and resident evil; TV shows such as the walking dead; and video games such as left 4 dead and deadrising are all sources of inspiration on this book. There are many others that impacted my writing, but I did my best to make this piece original.
-Inspiration not only comes from pop culture but also from people around you. I would like to thank my parents, my dad for a lot of ideas; my mom, for moral support; and my brothers, nick(for making the awesome cover) and Shane(for giving instruction on how to write better). More importantly, I would also like to thank my lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for making me to begin with. Without him, I wouldn’t have written this book in the first place.
-And last but not least, thank you, readers. I truly hope you love this book. But more crucially, I hope you learn what it would take to survive should this situation ever happen.
Introduction
-Hello, I am the author, Spencer McAllister. Before you jump into the book, understand that this is me, surviving the zombie apocalypse. It is written from my perspective, and as if it is happening right now.
-I wrote this book to be realistic. Shooting a bullet into a zombie’s head isn’t pretty. I wrote it this way, so you can feel what it would be like if this actually was happening.
-This book is about survival, about doing what is necessary, and about mindset. In order to survive the outbreak, you must cast aside emotion and use a gun. If you were expecting some drama-filled tale of a man finding his wife, then you picked up the wrong book.
-This book is about killing and moving on. It is intended to show what you would really have to do. Although it may not be humane or pleasant, it is the truth.
-I hope you enjoy this book, and by the end, I hope you understand why I wrote it the way I did.

- Chapter 1 -
Same Old
If you ask me, life is going pretty well for me. I have a fantastic life, I know some good people, and I am happy. I moved out of my parent’s house after a year of being done with high school. Being involved with a network marketing business has been very good to me. I found a nice place near the Tukwila region. Nothing too special, but it’s home. I like the Seattle area.
The weather has been nice for the past few weeks- sunny almost every day. Every now and then a few clouds will roll by, but it hasn’t rained yet. It is comfortable weather but also odd for Seattle.
My name is Spencer. I am 21 years old. I’m not too short and not too tall. Pretty much, one would say that I am average
. As far as I can tell, I am a normal person. I was raised in an amazing family. I am loved, and I am accepted. I was taught to help people and to be smart… ‘Always be smarter then what you’re working with.’ My father always said- it was rule #1.
I learned many things from my parents- how to make good decisions, how to associate with people, and how to look after myself. I am lucky to have parents such as mine. In fact, I can say I have taken them for granted…until now.
Things around here have been strange lately. Since I have been out on my own, things in society have changed. The health of the country has taken a turn for the worse. About 90% of the American people have to take prescription medication from pharmaceutical companies. However, the scary thing is that it isn’t just in America. Almost every country in the world has the same problem.
One would think that people getting medicine would have made things better, but it hasn’t. In fact, the medicine that people are getting has made them even worse. All hope seemed lost. Then the governments around the world issued a solution.
The resolution remedy- it’s a shot that you can get from any local drugstore, and the best part
- anybody can get it…for free. Once news of this began circulating, hope was reassured. People began getting their cure. Now that most of the population wasn’t sick, maybe our country can begin getting back to full strength. However there was a…unfortunate side effect.
Everybody who received the resolution remedy died. No one saw this coming. Obviously, it is sad. Finding out A few billion people just died is very disappointing. However, the even stranger thing…they all came back.
It is September 1st. I am driving to check up on my parents like I usually do every Sunday. We like to talk about different things, like movies and current events. However, my normal drive turns into a nightmare. I stop my car. I get out. I rub my eyes – gosh, still haven’t gotten used to Lasik surgery. In front of me, there is a creature eating a person. But this is different…it is another human eating the poor guy!
I sprint back to my car and proceed back to my place to devise a plan. I hustle into my house and turn on the news. But nothing comes on- it’s the emergency broadcast signal. I sit down on my couch. A million different things run through my head. Is this happening everywhere? How long has this been going on for? Is this what I think it is- zombie apocalypse!?
None of that mattered now…I need a weapon. Lucky for me, I always have a gun on me. When I turned 21, the first thing I did was get my concealed carrier’s license. My weapon of choice- a Smith and Wesson .45 M&P, it is very effective. I run to my closet and retrieve my AR-15. The nice thing about my work is that I can buy all the weapons and gear I thought I would ever need. However what I have isn’t enough. I never thought I would have to survive a zombie outbreak.
I holster my sidearm, sling up my rifle, and make my way out the door. I have to see if Mom and Dad made it out ok. I jump into my 3 series gun-metal-gray BMW and haul ass to my parents’ house. On my way there, I see what our society is turning into- zombies viciously eating defenseless people. The streets are riddled with blood and abandoned vehicles. It is shocking to see. I mean, I played zombie video
