Dorothy Holmes Olenja is a native of the Sea Islands in Beaufort South Carolina. She received her AB degree in Sociology from Boston College; her MA Ed./Administration from Pepperdine University; and Post Graduate studies --Specialist- Certification in Elementary Education. She is founder of Extended Hands, Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to academic and professional advancement of those in her community. This effort has resulted in many receiving their high school diplomas, teacher certifications, graduate and undergraduate degrees. Dorothy continues her work to enrich the lives of those in her community.
