To My Annie Book 2: 100 Poems of Passion
By Wade Powers
()
About this ebook
To My Annie Book 2 is the second in a planned five book set. To many, writing 500 poems about life and love that are mostly about Annie, may seem a bit much, but to know her is to love her! 500 poems barely scratch the surface of just how wonderful she is! Read and enjoy the toils and splendors of life and love as the author confesses his eternal love for his kindred spirit.
Wade Powers
Wade grew up in Lancaster, California with a love for the written word. What started out as simple poems and predictable short stories has evolved into novels about struggles, conquest, love and death. Wade has published two other novels, "Specter of an Accident" and "Skinware" and has completed the writer's version of the hat trick with the completion of "The Resurrection Factor." Wade has also written "The Covenant Divorce Recovery Leader's Handbook" which is a tutorial for starting divorce support groups for Christians. "The Covenant Divorce Recovery Student Workbook" was written as an aid for the members of said groups and allows a measure of accountability for the students as they follow along the fifteen week course. Wade has written two books of poetry, "To My Annie" and "To My Annie Book 2" and all of his works are available at online bookstores. His website is www.yellowriter.com and he lives in Port Angeles, Washington with his wife, Annie.

missing image fileOur Wedding Poem
An unjudgmental judge
Helps forge our vows
Mothers remember the past
And relish the now
Bear and Cyndi stood with us
Giving blessings of love
God gives second chances
Approves from above
Our Hawaiian honeymoon
Exploring three isles
Discover intimate passion
Laced with laughter and smiles
Oahu, the tourist trap
Diamondhead all the rave
Arizona beckons us from a watery grave
Kauai, garden island
Romance within reach
Waterfalls and a canyon
White crabs on the beach
Maui, the jewel
Playground for the rich
Relaxing but knowing
Kauai’s our niche
Our holiday now ended
Bid farewell to the sun
A lifelong dear honeymoon
Has just only begun
missing image fileAll the Sights and Sounds of Christmas
Use your nose – thermometer – hard chill hangs in the air
Differs from the rest of times – anticipate to share
End of the year in culmination – celebration fresh and new
All the sights and sounds of Christmas, personified in you
Again – use your nose – inhale the smell of pine
Whiffs of gingerbread and peppermint are yet another sign
Hallowed day, while drawing nearer, seems too good to be true
All the sights and sounds of Christmas, personified in you
Use your tongue in playful nonsense to taste a soft snowflake
Fall into heaven’s powder – snow angels on the make
Play in the icy paradise until our hands turn blue
All the sights and sounds of Christmas, personified in you
Use your eyes; survey the wonder – the lights in charming glow
Confirms the fact it’s almost here and in your mind you know
That this one will be special, ranking with rare few
All the sights and sounds of Christmas, personified in you
Use your heart to hear my heart – impart your spirit dear
Connect beyond our family and those who may be near
I’ll share a spark of what I get, to hold the whole year through
All the sights and sounds of Christmas, personified in you
missing image fileI Surrender
Peace and tranquility, an endangered pair
Most feign compassion, pretending to care
These concepts revealed to hearts which are tender
Unconditionally, to your serenity, I surrender
The violence and killing that threatens the life
Existence evolving in systems of strife
Heal broken spirit – for I know the Mender
Unconditionally, to your serenity, I surrender
Stare into space when the moon is aglow
Think of a quiet that most will not know
Hear peaceful whisper from the lips of the sender
Unconditionally, to your serenity, I surrender
Try to imagine a soft serene state
Away from the traffic, an alternate fate
Created by one of God’s fairer gender
Unconditionally, to your serenity, I surrender
Thank you for shutting out all of the noise
You do it with elegance, power and poise
Providing the safe place you only can render
Unconditionally, to your serenity, I surrender
missing image fileTo the Nines
An idiom obscure – the meaning not known
Unexplained origins – no clarity is shown
Some of our sayings – confused words in our lines
Nine years of wedlock – let’s undress to the nines
Dressed to the nines
is a curious quote
No substance or knowledge of even who wrote
The original sentence – we can’t read the signs
Nine years of wedlock – let’s undress to the nines
Some say the saying has military ties
Some claim a scale for which beauty vies
But I’ll not be named among seekers who pine
Nine years of wedlock – let’s undress to the nines
I really don’t care ‘bout its vague history
To me it remains a droll mystery
But I’ll ponder upon it as we wine and we dine
Nine years of wedlock – let’s undress to the nines
My favorite image of your favorite dress
Folds on the floor as we start to caress
In that magic moment I’ll claim what is mine
Nine years of wedlock – let’s undress to the nines
