About this ebook
Wade Powers
Wade grew up in Lancaster, California with a love for the written word. What started out as simple poems and predictable short stories has evolved into novels about struggles, conquest, love and death. Wade has published two other novels, "Specter of an Accident" and "Skinware" and has completed the writer's version of the hat trick with the completion of "The Resurrection Factor." Wade has also written "The Covenant Divorce Recovery Leader's Handbook" which is a tutorial for starting divorce support groups for Christians. "The Covenant Divorce Recovery Student Workbook" was written as an aid for the members of said groups and allows a measure of accountability for the students as they follow along the fifteen week course. Wade has written two books of poetry, "To My Annie" and "To My Annie Book 2" and all of his works are available at online bookstores. His website is www.yellowriter.com and he lives in Port Angeles, Washington with his wife, Annie.

Passion Starts Over
The limits of life – quantifying our days
Alabaster blends with black – the making of grays
Contrasting affections – ‘gainst the White Cliffs of Dover
When our love has reached new heights, the passion starts over
Combination enamored – the sin and the glory
The curves in the road tell the ultimate story
How hearts made of stone turn to green fields of clover
When our love has reached new heights, the passion starts over
Like a harvest in autumn – full of richness, abundance
Reward in the working – no risk of redundance
Storing grains of commitment among stalks of stover
When our love has reached new heights, the passion starts over
Metaphor of a garden, in perpetual warm spring
Ask yourself a question, Who could dream such a thing?
Turns into a bird, taking flight like a plover
When our love has reached new heights, the passion starts over
Enthusiasm unbounded – imagination released
Reverence is due – fear of failure - deceased
Fixed in each other, never play role of rover
When our love has reached new heights, the passion starts over
Reigning and Raining
If you had to pick a sense, to sense the fringe of fall
I’d recommend the visual, catch color’s waterfall
No moisture, only bursting fire, tree naked, as it grieves
Our love steadfast and reigning, while autumn’s raining leaves
Please do not try to sway me, to ear gate or in smells
The drama’s in the dazzling reds, the story that it tells
Harvest is upon us – ‘tis a rolling of the sheaves
Our love steadfast and reigning, while autumn’s raining leaves
Now you see things my way, sit back and watch the show
Forgetting that our golden theater will soon be full of snow
Season of kaleidoscope, to our memories, it cleaves
Our love steadfast and reigning, while autumn’s raining leaves
Enjoy the yellows and the oranges, as they travel to the earth
Parading down from treetops, showcasing all they’re worth
Pay homage to their journey – ‘tis one of my pet peeves
Our love steadfast and reigning, while autumn’s raining leaves
But our beauty and our passion go on throughout the seasons
Not beholden to cruel calendar, transcends all simple reasons
Never ending in performance, hearts no one can sever
Our reign of love, continuous, treks on into forever
My Finest Expression
The images, the words, cool kindling hot embered
Suddenly, in focus, all things are remembered
Flooding the soul, like a need for confession
Loving you, without equal, my finest expression
Inspiration of others? I care not a whit
My understanding their passion would never quite fit
With how my heart leads me, artistic impression
Loving you, without equal, my finest expression
For I have been moved by a song or a painting
Observing fair patrons on the verge of a fainting
Their overreaction points me to depression
Loving you, without equal, my finest expression
A woman? As art? My heartfelt assertion
I can tell them with confidence, there is such a person
I’ll not be persuaded by their constant aggression
Loving you, without equal, my finest expression
In the end, there’s the product – words in a poem
Warm, in its essence, like a hearth heated home
Conclusion is verified – the last of the lesson
Loving you, without equal, my finest expression
Before the Killing Frost
Youth believe the flowers of spring flourish to forever
Fragrance of new foliage, surrounding their endeavors
Relentless future schools them – they learn that all is lost
Feel fall’s facade eternal, before the killing frost
Key to understanding, for us, live life to limit
Spring gives way to summer, then autumn seeks to dim it
Light of winter, barely lit, causes souls to count the cost
Feel fall’s façade eternal, before the killing frost
Metaphor of life as seasons, may seem a tad bit grim
