    PREFACE

Do you believe that an evil hierarchy of minions belongs to medieval times when the church used the concept of hell to frighten their flock into submission?

Frankly, an evil empire headed by Satan may not make sense to the logical mind which fails to understand the meaning of spirit in all things.

For those who doubt the dark side; however, unsettling or unbelievable the events presented in this book may appear to you, there are many incidents here that you will be able to relate to and may have experienced yourself.

Be assured that there is nothing to fear except the doubt in your mind about the existence of evil beings in the unseen world, with an undying desire to unhinge your sanity through offensive intrusions and malicious paranormal activities such as sabotage, telepathy, theft, assault, lies and death threats.

Decide for yourself and then believe.

According to my guardians, there are many who are in the back of the devil’s mind. The absence of light is darkness and the absence of good is evil. Whether negative entities cloak the light or hide behind it, they are in the back of the devil’s mind.

    * * *

The story of Shadow Place begins with the worse kind of nightmare which challenged all of my previous beliefs about the night side of nature. My experiences suggest that a hierarchy of evil in some shape or form does exist. In my communications with the higher realms, they refer to my adversaries as minions. I also use the term shadow people to describe the minions because that is how they often appear. Just be aware that powerful evil spirits can assume any shape or form.

Negative entities are a challenge for us on the earth plane. I hope that my controversial perspective on the hierarchy of evil will be as enlightening for you, as my protective techniques and strategies are.

    INTRODUCTION

The Scripture tells of the spirit battle of love over hatred and obedience over pride. Before the fallen angels, a moral order of beauty and dignity should have existed. Those adhering to the higher order were under God’s protection. Those who chose pride against all logic and justice were left degraded with the aptitudes inherent in their nature. By giving the fallen angels evil tendencies to overcome on a level playing field, God’s justice was satisfied.

If love is the first law given to spirits, then freedom is necessary because love under compulsion is a contradiction in terms. We can give our love to God or refuse to do so. If all is love and all love is being at one with God, then a created being can make real all of the potentialities that are within. Therefore, all the fallen angels were given a similar trial of love as we were.

Thus Lucifer or Satan becomes the great tempter of spirits and men. He truly became the Prince of this world, beginning with the Garden of Eden, right up until the time of Christ. Christ comes to undo what the devil has done. Forcing Satan to undo what he has done is the cruellest punishment which can be inflicted upon the devil, but the devil’s cruellest deed or most cunning trick is to lead us to believe that he does not exist.

God allows the demons to test us until the end of this world and Satan is both the Prince of this world and the Prince of hell until our world is done.

The Scripture also warns us about creating voids and conversion from bad to good, or from good to better. When an unclean spirit is cast out, there is a danger of relapse. Whenever you create a void, you must fill it in with something more powerful or meaningful; otherwise something else will replace it.

Satan and his army also like to test those who are making progress along the spiritual path. Accordingly, he worries less about those who are already doing his bidding.

Perhaps the best candidates in the future for Satan’s cause are those who have no belief in either God or Satan. Accordingly, the next revolt is represented by men who glorify in the delights of total liberty and the right to develop without restraint.

Note (1): According to the Scripture, it is possible that Lucifer through sheer will power transmitted thought and challenged the faithful spirits commanded by Michael, to make themselves into gods. Lucifer also continued to rally those who answered his call and followed his example.

Note (2): In regards to the question: Is Lucifer really Satan? Shakuntala Modi’s hypnotized patients claimed that Lucifer is not Satan. Instead, there are powerful devils who work under Lucifer who call themselves Satan (Memories of God and Creation, 2000, p.230).

Note (3): Modi’s patients also mentioned that angels were created after Lucifer and his followers left the globe of God (Ibid, p.70).

Note (4): Modi’s controversial work based on her hypnotized clients may give us some insight into creation. There is also plenty to consider in regards evil on our planet. What makes her work controversial is that other past lives hypnotic therapists have found no evidence of paranormal evil based on their clients’ past lives experiences. My conclusion is that the higher realms choose when to release specific information and to whom. As a result, scientists are easily duped into believing that certain aspects of the spirit world don’t exist because their clients are blocked from knowing. I don’t dispute anyone’s findings about the afterlife; however, one should keep an open mind about the role of evil on our planet.

Note (5): In our prayers, we do not rely on the words, or the sound of our voice, or even the words that we whisper in our hearts. Like the angels, we operate on spiritual impulse. St. John told us that it is the silent music of intention which gives our prayers their real value.

Note (6): Finding joy and contentment in being in alignment with God’s will is a powerful protective measure.

Note (7): St. John of the Cross never ceased to warn us to doubt messages from beyond. There must be some doubt in every message which comes from the divine and that we must cling to faith alone. Moreover, the nearer to God we are; the more traps we can expect.

Note (8): The Scripture warns us about casting out unclean spirits and how the spirit which was cast out goes in search of seven other spirits more wicked than itself to bear it company, so that the inflicted person is worse than before. (Matt. 12. 43-45). St. Paul claims that all saints go through the same process. A personal devil which has been driven out by process, returns with seven more that are more evil than the original one to resume possession.

Note (9): Asking the Church or the Faith Builders in our midst to take charge of us is similar to asking the "blind to lead the blind’ along a path which only each of us can walk independently. On the other hand, through discernment each of us has the potential to experience darkness in a meaningful way. Those who succeed often become aware of their true destiny. By experiencing the emotions which are related to overcoming darkness, an individual begins to realize that they were never alone in their ordeal. As a result, there are changes in their perception and awareness. To some extent, amnesia begins to fade too.

Note (10): Increased channeling from the higher realms can be problematic for those with limited beliefs. For example, Dwight L. Moody’s channeled message on Satan is an example of the higher consciousness perspective (Jenkins and Winninger, 2008, p.28-30). It’s not surprising that Jenkins and Winninger were unable to find a publisher for their controversial transcriptions. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Moody stated that Satan was not a fallen angel. Instead, God requested that Satan become negativity, so that humans could experience the devil in two forms while learning lessons on the earth plane. The first form of the devil concerned every negative feeling which was the opposite of goodness. The second form was related to the devil’s source of energy and mission. God allowed this to happen, so that souls could experience the intensity of the love of God. Because in order to experience love, you must at some point experience its opposite.

There are dozens of channelled messages on the internet like those above, some of which are a bit sketchy on details. As a result, it’s sometimes hard to get your head around higher consciousness perspective interpretations of good and evil and the devil being a loyal servant of the Creator (especially, if you’re a human being and you’re stuck in the middle). There is no doubt in my mind that you can channel the divine; however, powerful evil beings are quite capable of using their telepathic gifts to change the part of the message which suits them.

Note (11): The minions usually help me with my truth when they show me their displeasure. After I wrote note 10, a minion knocked over something in the basement right behind me. Bingo!

Note (12): Notwithstanding note 10 concerning the Leaders of the Past transcriptions; some of the points from the Carl G. Jung channelling session were perceived as less controversial. Even though there was some modification of his doctrine of the collective unconscious, the hungry ghosts may have been asleep at the wheel. Jung was the first leader to be interviewed, so perhaps the channelled information wasn’t modified. Accordingly to Toni Ann Winninger, Jung: held himself strictly to Peter’s questions, without expounding into a wider dimension (Jenkins and Winninger, 2008, p221). However, there could have been hungry ghosts present, who wanted to be involved with the leaders project. As such, problems could have developed later on with the other interviews.

Note (13): Satan as a team player takes some getting use to. It’s more or less the same thing as having Hitler for your father. For those who believe that the Bible is God’s word, the aspect of Satan as God’s partner is simply outrageous. In my view, it’s not worth pursuing. There is a strong possibility of a trap in this notion of Satan as team player.

Note (14): On language usage: God, Great Spirit, Great Mystery and Creator all have the same meaning in this text.

    Part One

    The Devil’s King

    I

The dark forces gathered and waited for me alone. They allowed our home to absorb their evilness, until the fabric between our world and theirs was non-existent. I believe what happened to me was personal and not just a result of where I was living. That is why they followed me from one home to another.

If there was anything different about us, it didn’t show up in the beginning. Our neighbours and friends saw us as a typical middle class, working family. I had been teaching for several years and my wife Cathy was employed with the local municipality.

Cathy, along with me and our two children, Adam and baby Jacob, aged six months, moved into the double story, side-split, raised bungalow, during the Labour Day weekend in 1997. Before we bought the home, we believed that it was a nice middle class neighbourhood where nothing bad ever happened. The only problem was that I couldn’t convince Adam that I had made the right decision. Even though Adam was only three years old, he refused to sleep the first night in our new home.

I had never experienced anything paranormal in my life; but my first encounter with the unknown happened shortly after we had moved in. I was down in the basement one evening and I heard Cathy shouting for me to come upstairs quickly. It sounded like she was beginning to panic. I ran up three sets of stairs, from the basement, to the den, to the living room and finally, to the upstairs landing.

That day, I witnessed something totally bizarre. I should have heeded it as a warning of things to come. Jacob was old enough for a day bed; so we kept one beside our double bed. As I arrived upstairs, I saw the small day bed glow. I mean, it was really glowing, without the benefit of a light. It was a florescent, shimmering green colour which flowed in waves, from the top of the bed to the bottom and from side to side. It didn’t last long and it finally broke up in a thousand pieces of flickering green specks which reminded me of fireflies. We were all just dumbfounded.

When Cathy told her parents about it later on, they said that we had a huge, wonderful property; but we shouldn’t stay. There was something wrong with the house. Unfortunately, my stubbornness took over. I didn’t listen to them because the property was beautiful. My intention was to have a large garden. Cathy’s concerns also fell upon deaf ears. I simply ignored everything that tried to interfere with my dream garden.

Once we got settled in, we began to talk to the neighbours about the house. My next door neighbour had been friendly with the people from Saskatchewan, who lived in our house previously. They had three children. My neighbour said that the people who use to live in our home would normally move with the company every two or three years; but they had stayed eight years this time and now they were moving back to Saskatchewan. (Our house was thirty two years old and three other families had lived there before us).

Our next door neighbour was a no nonsense tradesperson, who did electrical work and plumbing. It seemed strange when he said that the child in the front room use to sleep with a light on all night. We also noted that there were locks to be found in strange places. Perhaps something had gone missing and being logical people, they thought that a burglary had occurred. Later my neighbour admitted that the Saskatchewan family had left more than a few lights on. But he never mentioned what they were afraid of.

A few years passed. There had been a few noises like things falling over, but nothing was ever found to be amiss. The crashes sounded like everything was falling over upstairs or in the basement, depending on where you were located in the house. For example, I was down in the den one day when everyone heard a heavy crash in the upstairs. For some reason, the sound had been blocked from my ears. I could hear nothing, even though the upstairs was right over me.

Two more years passed by. There had been some strange psychic phenomena; but nothing too frightening. The first malevolent thing that happened was perceived by me to be an accident. Later on, I was told that it wasn’t an accident. In fact, it happened again. The first time I tripped, I was going downstairs late one night. I don’t know how I could have possibly missed my footing; however, I twisted my foot at the bottom of the stairs. I was sick with pain as I struggled upstairs to bed. I told Cathy that I might have broken my foot. Fortunately, I hadn’t. But I did have to limp around rather badly for a few days thinking how stupid I had been.

At the time, I didn’t believe in the possibility of ghosts. On the other hand, Cathy was more sensitive towards unusual things around the house because of her psychic abilities. Now she was seriously looking at the real estate ads and begging me to leave.

The first real instance of a haunting occurred one night just before bedtime. Cathy was getting Adam ready for bed in the front room. Adam would be seven years old at the time. I was already in bed and just about ready to fall asleep, when I heard something that made my blood run cold. It was a man’s voice and he was shouting at me. I don’t remember the words; but I remember the tone. The voice was very loud and it sounded like it was coming from the hall. The bedroom door was shut and yet the voice seemed to carry through it. I sat bolt upright and ran out into the hall. The children were terrified and Cathy was visibly upset. She asked me why I was yelling and screaming at the top of my voice. I asked her where she thought the voice had come from. She said it had come from our bedroom. I told her that it wasn’t me.

    II

Some crashing sounds occurred after that and there were a few odd smells. The crashing sounded like the roof was caving in. Other times, it sounded like several large pieces of furniture were falling over. The odd smells were like putrid garbage. The garbage smell would appear out of nowhere and it would disappear just as fast. Also, the children were aware of a few things which they spoke of later like the green man in Adam’s room. I was focussed on other things at the time. It never occurred to me that we were going to have a major fight on our hands.

It was mid-February 2002 when our adversary finally made his play. Adam told me that I should go to my office. I began to witness things that no sane person would believe. The first thing I noticed was the cords from the power bar were being pulled out, one by one, by invisible hands. Then the garbage can was turned upside down. Books were taken from shelves and dropped in the middle of the room. The computer monitor lifted off the desk and came down on the floor, screen down. The mouse was still attached to the hard drive and it swung like a pendulum. There were desk files already dumped on the floor, along with numerous other items from the shelves. To top it off, my files were being pushed out of my office towards the den. It was like a miniature ghost was pushing the files from behind.

I was speaking to Cathy about what was going on when Adam asked me to come back to the office. Adam could see and hear the spirit. Cathy came along with me. She began to ask the ghost a few questions about his identity. The spirit said he had been a soldier in the British Army. He said he was killed during the Second War World. Cathy asked him about his relatives. He said he had none. She began to get suspicious and asked the ghost to leave.

We went down to the basement to discuss the matter. The first thing that Cathy said to me was that the ghost was lying. Then Adam interrupted. He said that the ghost was standing at the top of the stairs and he was laughing at us. Cathy ran upstairs and started to yell and wave her arms at the ghost, telling it to go to the light or somewhere else.

After Cathy had settled down, Adam said the ghost wanted to speak to us in my office. The ghost had terms to speak of. The ghost wanted to take over my office. If I didn’t let him have the office, he would destroy our home. Cathy was in no mood for it; so I thought it would be wiser to withdraw. We couldn’t exactly call the police or kick a ghost out of the house.

After listening to the ghost’s demands, we went upstairs to the living room. Cathy decided to phone her friend Sarah for moral support. Sarah had psychic abilities and she could tell that there was something evil in our house. Sarah was also concerned about transporting it to her home, so she hung up on Cathy and called back from a pay phone about five minutes later. This time Sarah wanted to speak with me. She told me that we should leave our home immediately because it was too dangerous. Adam was trying to tell me something, so I just said that I would be careful. Cathy stayed on the phone with Sarah, while I talked with Adam.

According to Adam, the ghost had a name. John Crusade died at a young age, during the latter part of the nineteenth century. John used to be an actor and he liked to change his appearance on occasion. He could even appear older in a more dignified manner. Adam described him as being dressed very smartly, in a tight military type waistcoat, with the usual trimmings.

Adam said to me that John had a spirit army of followers who had gathered enough strength to move items around the house. In fact, John had invited his spirit army over to our place. Adam could actually see them multiplying. They started to appear in the den. Then they began to find their way around the house. I asked Adam what they looked like. He said many of them were young looking and they were dressed in old-fashioned clothing.

The only defence I had at the time was my grandfather’s Holy Bible. I left it on my desk; but it was promptly thrown on the office floor. At that point, I knew one
