You know what it’s like having a family-the laundry, the vast number of shoes, the socks that got away, the talking-all-at-once gab sessions, the lack of time to do it all.

Once the travel bug bit me the first time, I presumed I could plan it all in a day, amid the clutter of my kitchen, and the sticky hands of five sweet children under the age of 10. When, for instance, I was on the phone trying to get prices for a rental property, I was stopped in my tracks because I heard one or more voices cooing loudly for peanut butter
