What Makes Me Different? By: Mario Cardarelli
Hi, my name is Mario, and I have a story for you children today.
This story was about me when I was a little boy, and how I lost my best friend because of bullying. One day I was walking with my mother to school. I was about seven years old. Although I was excited about the new school I was also scared. As we ware getting closer to the school I started feeling nauseous and dizzy.
My mother looked down at me and asked What’s the matter sweetie?
I had quivers in my voice, Mom I don’t think I’m ready to start school today
My mother looked down at me and with her sweet smile said Everything will be fine sweetie,
go in and try to make some new friends.
I will be here at the end of the day, when school is out. I looked at my mom, smiled, and walked on into the classroom. I searched for a desk away from the rest of the students, but all I found was a desk next to a little girl. So I went over and sat down beside her. The little girl looked at me and smiled. The teacher came in and started to speak,
today children you will be working in partners, we will be doing learning exercises. The teacher placed each student into assigned partners and gave each group a pipe that was cut in half down the middle, and a marble. The teacher began to explain to us what to do
the object of this game he said is to get the marble from one side of the classroom to the other
. As I started to walk towards my partner another boy named Bob tripped me. I was so embarrassed that I cried and could hardly get myself off the floor but I did it anyways. I asked this boy why did you do that?
Bob looked at me with hate as I had actually done something to deserve his anger. He raised his shoulders as he could care less and said because I wanted to
and walked away. When school had finally ended I walked out of the classroom with teary eyes. When I was
