About this ebook

Life is full of battles. Every living soul has a share of the challenges. One way to fight the daily battles is through prayer. In Commanding Blessings Every Day author Pastor Tony Dosumu shares five basic principles related to prayer and offers a variety of prayers to be used for the challenges faced in life.

Commanding Blessings Every Day provides insight into the power in Gods word, the power in faith, and the power in praise; it describes how to honor the Lord through well-intended prayer. Presented in agreement with biblical expressions, it also offers a plethora of prayers addressing lifes issues, such as gaining salvation, earning a higher status, obtaining business success, traveling safely, and overcoming fear, negative thoughts, depression, sickness, and intimidation at work.

Dosumu demonstrates that nothing is possible without prayer and supplication, and he provides an effective method of praying Gods promises into manifestation.

    FOREWORD

I met Pastor Tony Dosumu a few years ago while campaigning for a leadership position in an international organisation to which we both belong. I had no doubt that he had a spiritual message for this generation. In a revelation, the Lord had shown me a few young people as His vessels; Pastor Dosumu is one of them. God does not only see us as we are, but He sees who He wants to make us to be. He knows the end from the beginning; He is the beginning and the end and He never changes and never regrets His actions or words (Romans 11:29-36).

I read the first copy of his prayer notes "One To One with God" and it was birthed in my spirit that the seed sown of the Holy Spirit is budding in his life. Now reading Commanding Blessings Every Day, I realise that there is a spiritual blossoming taking place. This young man has been praying and listening to God, and that is manifest in his growth. The Spirit makes intercession for us with a groaning of the spirit that cannot be articulated (Romans 8:26). It takes a prayer life and walk with God to put down the manner of prayer points found in this book.

Prayers unlock the secret treasures of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ, praying in John 17:20 said: I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word. This prayer is still being answered today—well over 2000 years after Jesus said it. We all need to pray at one time or the other for ourselves, for others, or for things beyond our reach. We need to talk or ask for help. We sometimes reach out to the spiritual or the supernatural; we need a place to run to, to reach out, and to touch with our feeling of infirmity.

Pastor Dosumu has discovered that prayer is the secret weapon of the kingdom of God. Prayer is like a heat-seeking missile that can be fired towards any trouble spot on earth. Prayer reaches the throne room of grace (Hebrew 4:14-16), it travels undetected at the speed of thought and hits its target without fail. Prayer means I can always do something great; I don’t have to say there is nothing I can do; I can pray. Satan has no defence against this weapon—he doesn’t have an anti-prayer missile.

I recommend Commanding Blessings Every Day without reservation, as I give thanks to God for Pastor Tony Dosumu’s life and all who will be touched by this book of prayers.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

Those that will teach must not only be called but also be taught. One of the rare God chosen servants, Pastor Tony Dosumu has been taken by the divine finger of God through what I describe as the crucible of prayer. His explicit exposition of prayer places victory cheaply in the hands of a mortal man. The understanding of this book on prayer is enough to make a man open the windows of heaven and shut it at will. There is no limit to a man who can pray and more importantly, to the man who understands the concept of prayer from this book. I recommend it for all and sundry particularly those who desire the touch of God.

I had the privilege of going through the manuscript and must testify that I am greatly blessed by the prayers. I recommend it for daily use.

"Pastor Dosumu passionately believes prayers can move mountains. This book is an excellent work for survival in these difficult times. It teaches on how to stand on God’s word as a tool for breakthroughs. One to one with God written by Pastor Dosumu was powerful; "Commanding Blessings Every Day" also written by him is another well researched work.

A focused Christian; Pastor Tony Dosumu’s second book shows how committed he is in making his readers realise that God’s word manifests if they pray. He has produced another religious masterpiece for every Christian to savour and I thank God for giving him the honour to pass on the message.

I like Pastor Dosumu’s emphasis about confession of sin because there are many preachers preaching the opposite and that is why we have so many way-ward Christians but this book has emphasized its importance. Keep it up Pastor Dosumu, and keep on writing.

    INTRODUCTION

The first family (Adam and Eve) had the privilege of direct fellowship and harmonious relationship with God; they therefore had no reason to pray. God made them in His own image, reflecting His love and glory, and put the future of the earth under their authority. God put them in the beautiful Garden of Eden to inhabit, for their peace and comfort. They had no rivals; there were no causes for worry about challenges of life or tribulations. Adam and Eve were under no physical or mental pressure; they had no inherited problems. They lived happily in the grace and favour of God.

Every freedom functions on instruction. Adam and Eve had freedom through an unrestricted access to God’s mind. He loved them with passion but placed before them a very simple moral test—obedience to His instructions. Obedience was the guarantee for their continued comfort, eternal life and perfect communion with God. They were warned not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for if they did, they would surely suffer death (Genesis 2:15-17). Sadly, Satan succeeded in using Eve to trick them to disobey God’s instructions. Adam and Eve grieved their Creator and consequently, their blessings were turned to curses (Genesis 3:16-19). They were ejected out of comfort, sent to labour in the world and they completely lost fellowship with God. Their disobedience, unfortunately, became the source of fear, sorrow and pain to mankind.

The scriptures reveal that Adam and Eve had another touch of the enemy after their exit from the Garden of Eden. They gave birth to Cain and Abel, but Satan struck again by influencing Cain to kill his brother—Abel (Genesis 4:1-8). Adam and Eve had another son called Seth who also gave birth to a son named Enosh. It was after Enosh’s birth that men began to express trust in their Creator by calling on the name of the Lord (Genesis 4:26).

Satan was expelled to the world after he led a fierce war in heaven and lost it. The devil and his fallen angels then chose to create chaos and confusion on earth. Consequently, the world began to face wars, disasters and challenges in different forms. Man had empowered the enemy through the loss of relationship with God, and now struggles to make ends meet and protect himself and families against dark powers and principalities. People are forced to wrestle for breakthroughs that should have come their way effortlessly. Getting to the Promised Land became an uphill task. If man had not been disobedient to God, life would have been quite easy for every one.

Life is full of battles. Every living soul has a share of the challenges. Jesus Christ did experience challenges as detailed in Matthew 4:1-22. Satan attempted to test the power of God through Jesus. He used juicy offers to tempt Jesus to bow down and worship him—in other words, to deny God. Jesus was firm in giving appropriate responses to Satan’s evil attempts and He succeeded in driving him away. Jesus said to the devil: ". . . Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Matthew 4:10). Jesus was able to conquer the tempter because He was in the Spirit. Jesus had been praying and fasting for forty days and nights. The Lord gave
