    Remembering Her Spirit

United Kindred Spirits Poetry & Prose

    Foreword

For two very special ladies, my soul mate and her dearest friend, much success to you both as your United Kindred Spirits embark upon an everlasting journey.

    Intentions

    By: G. D. Williams

    Your face bright,

But oceans move through at all times,

Of the day and constant night,

    How can it be?

    Planes fly and music ring,

    Ships sail onward,

    It’s a sign,

Your body brown, neck soft, lips oh so unlike any,

My mind says nothing of logical substance,

    Yet my love is plenty,

At least I think it is,

    Bodies move under a trance,

Then watch as windows blow by,

We are all equal or maybe not,

    Actions speak louder than words,

Flowers smell like bodies drenched of love,

Move over and onward, it’s okay,

    I hope and pray,

    Your love will forever obey,

Stay and not sway far away,

But my love like you I wish,

    Will always be to me,

    Lively and loving,

I learn your action and apprentice,

By asking you my lover to be mindful of your ways,

To lure, love and capture your smile,

Means more to me than the moon,

    Or the brightest morning sunlight,

    Can you not see?

    Or hear my plea,

Which, my heart only knows and feels your soul,

Piercing towards me as an unforgettable target of unsurpassable intention.

This book of poetry and prose

    is dedicated in memory of

    Nedra Nedy B Brown

whose Kindred Spirit will never be forgotten.…

First and foremost, we give all thanks, praise and the glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for without him none of this could have been possible. To our wonderful husbands, children, parents, relatives, friends and colleagues who inspired us along the way, and encouraged us to write a book together. We thank you for your support and confidence in us to succeed. We especially appreciate the inspiration pep talks from Minister Calvin Read and his wife Deanna, who kept advising and pumping us up to step out on faith and give our God given gift to express our feelings into words back to others so that it may me a blessing unto them.

Our mothers, thanks so much for believing in your daughters through the years, you always knew we had the gift, as a result of your own abilities to write and inspire other with your way with words. Our love for you has always been unconditional and is like infinity dollars and beyond.

OPT (Onyx Page Turners), what can we say? Pam and Valerie remember that meeting when we gathered around the table at Monie’s house, and each shared our visions of someday publishing a book? Well, this one’s for you girlfriends! Thanks for the unforgettable bonding, sharing and special fellowship with the infamous rum cake baking, and wine sips. We have learned so much from you and the books we chose monthly to read and discuss. We feel very honored and proud to be charter members, and look forward to your books becoming published works. We love you all!

Special appreciation and love goes out to my Columbus, Ohio family who after so many years of being apart welcomed me back with open arms…my sister Pam, nieces Chell, Granny, nephew Scooter, my aunts Lucy and Laurina, my uncle Jake, and cousins JoAnn, Melvin, Kurston and Brenda, it was great to get back in the fellowship with you all, even if it was only for a short time.
