When I began to have a closer relationship with God and to study the Bible, these poems seemed to just start flowing; I had to get them down on paper before I forgot something. I became a Christian at the age of thirteen, and I know God has always been with me through all the ups, downs, and disasters of my life. But until I started wanting a deeper relationship with Him, He was just there when I called, waiting on me to want to be closer to Him. I can truly say with confidence that the closer you get to God, the easier it is to deal with this life and all of its problems.

Nancy DeMotte

Nancy DeMotte lives in the Bessemer, Alabama, area with her husband and her three grown children. She has been a critical care nurse for twenty-four years and attends Hopewell Road Church of God of Prophecy. At present she and her husband are working on degrees in religion through Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts, and through the continuing education program of the Church of God of Prophecy. This is her first publication, and it comes from a deep love of God and reading the Bible with joy and anticipation.

I dedicate these poems to my Lord GOD Almighty who drew me to Himself by His love and grace, my Savior Jesus Christ who died for my sins, for which I am still so amazed and don’t deserve, and to The Holy Spirit who dwells in me, guiding me and giving me such beautiful heartfelt poems as I listen to Him. I can never say thank you and I love you enough.

I also want to thank my daughter, LeNee’ for her help with all the typing and pictures she has done. To Lisa, my friend and pastor’s wife, for proofing my spelling and grammar, without which I would have been lost. Last but not least my husband, Boyce, for his encouragement and reminding me, That GOD didn’t give me these poems just to sit in my notebook but for His glory, and for keeping me on track to get my work done.
