About this ebook

Can time travel change your outlook on life?

Laveau had a life that many people would envy. He was filthy rich and had no problem attracting women. Unfortunately, that was all he had. With no friends or family left, he was miserable. He had given up any hope of finding a meaningful connection with anyone. But when he decided to walk away from everything he had ever known, he wound up in a whole new time.
He found himself over 80 years in the past with a strange new guide. The woman seemed to know him, but he had never met her before. He wasn't sure how he got there. Or, how he was going to make it back home. Was there anything for him to go back home to? Could time travel give his life a new purpose?

Laveau reached in his pocket for his bloodstone. It was always there in his right pocket. He rubbed his thumb over it to ease his mind. It was perfectly smooth. If he took it out of his pocket, he would see the vibrant green with veins of red flowing through it. As a child, he was a worrier. So, he used it as a worry stone and rubbed his worries into it when he needed peace. He needed it now.

He was really lost this time. He was stuck in the woods. All trees of the looked the same and he kept ending up back at the bayou. To be honest, it could have been more than one bayou. They were all looking the same either way. Louisiana was funny that way.

Then he heard the singing. It seemed to be coming from all around him. It felt like the trees were singing too. He could smell the scent of rain in the air. The frogs were singing in tune.

Laveau listened closer. He could distinctly hear a woman’s voice.
