    The Human Body Owner’s Manual has most of the information necessary to keep your body in excellent condition. We urge you to read this manual carefully so that you may understand your body’s basic requirements. For information not found in this manual, such as repairs, please contact a qualified healthcare provider.

    Introduction

    Your body is a moving machine, and like a car, is built to last about 250,000 miles or around 90 years, provided you avoid risky behavior and environmental toxins. With the right genetics and care, a few cars can go 300,000 + miles or 95 years and up. We get away with a lot up until about 100,000 miles, then the aging clock and genetics join in with the effects of bad lifestyle habits; including over-eating, ingesting poor quality food, physical inactivity and lack of sleep.

    Like the dashboard of a car, your health dashboard (see book cover) reflects the primary gauges of how you are functioning. These metrics are dynamic and can shift into the good or bad ranges…..it’s all up to you! There are other important secondary gauges that could go on the health dashboard, like level of inflammation and blood pressure, but we did not want to turn it into an aircraft dashboard.

    This manual is yours for reference and reminder. Habit change is difficult, but by being aware, persistent, and learning what works best for your body, you can get on track with proper care and maintenance to create a finely tuned machine.
