Luck of an Ice Badger

Lance loved the thrill and buzz of the atmosphere on game day. He could hear the roar of the crowd clapping along with the sound of Cotton Eye Joe blasting over the sound system. The arena was packed to the rafters in the new arena built for the Ice Badgers, the farm team for pro hockey team, the Lewiston Loggers.

Being only 22, handsome Lance Lacroix, a rising star hockey player, had hoped to make the big team this year. But he hadn’t quite impressed the brass of the Loggers enough so he was sent back to the farm team for further development and later evaluation. He was a good, solid, talented right wing but his productivity wasn’t consistent which worried his coaches. And it didn’t help he seemed too easily distracted by the pretty ladies in the crowd.
