    A Victor Over Villains

    Myths are amazing stories of gods, goddesses, heroes, and fantastic creatures. The myths of ancient Greece told classic tales of a race of warrior women known as the Amazons. In more recent stories in comic books, these Amazons lived peacefully together on a hidden island. Then they learned that Ares, the god of war, was plotting to destroy all of humankind. The Amazons held a contest to choose one champion to fight Ares. The winner of that competition was Princess Diana, who became the super hero Wonder Woman.
