INTRODUCTION
Myths, Monsters, and a Mighty Amazon
Myths are famous stories, and the story of Wonder Woman is one of the most famous of all. Before she became a world-renowned super hero, she was Princess Diana. She grew up on a hidden island called Themyscira, and she came from a line of brave women known as the Amazons. These immortals lived together peacefully, far from the rest of the world. Occasionally, however, evildoers surfaced on their island — including rampaging monsters. Many of the monsters were imprisoned in a series of tunnels behind Doom’s Doorway, a sealed door on the island.
When she became a young woman, Diana journeyed from Themyscira on a mission to fight evil in man’s world,
