About this ebook
Aesop is credited with many fables that have endured for centuries, relating morals and truth to young and old using animals as the main characters in each story. This collection of 100 tales, with color illustrations and black-and-white art by Percy J. Billinghurst throughout, is a beautiful addition to any home library.
Aesop
Aesop was a fabulist or story teller credited with a number of fables now collectively known as Aesop's Fables. Although his existence remains uncertain and (if they ever existed) no writings by him survive, numerous tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. Many of the tales are characterized by animals and inanimate objects that speak, solve problems, and generally have human characteristics.

Reviews for Aesop's Fables
2 ratings1 review
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Aesop's Fables contain relevant messages, but also outdated values. "The Wolf and the Goat" might be taken as an excuse to not try to change oneself or explore urges that come from within. However a story like "The Donkey and the Dog" has a great moral and teaches the lesson that everyone finds pleasure in something unique and relevant to themselves. The reader should use their own judgement when reading the fables and decide what morals are pertinent to their lives and which are obsolete or meaningless. A deeper meaning can be found in each of the fables which all force the reader to dig into their prior knowledge and come to their own conclusions.
