Emily Follett-Campbell was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a child, she loved to perform, studying drama at Etobicoke School of the Arts in high school and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Playwriting from Concordia University in Montreal. After graduating, she spent the rest of her twenties trying to find a sensible job that would enable her to do what she really wanted to do, which was write. She has had many jobs (not all of them sensible—she once worked as a magician's assistant) in restaurants, marketing, and set and prop construction. In her thirties, she realized she wasn't being sensible at all, only cowardly, and subsequently wrote a middle grade novel, SPARK'S AND CAMPBELL'S EMPORIUM OF INTERESTING GOODS PRESENTS: THE NOSE AND HIS PERFUME. THE NOSE AND HIS PERFUME has over 240,000 reads on Wattpad, where it is available to read for free. Currently, Emily works as a copywriter. She writes short stories for adults and young adults and is writing her next book, a young adult science fiction called, WATCHING, which is in a futuristic city where everyone watches each other all the time.

No matter how hard she tried, Erin couldn’t seem to find a job. Her parents mistook her lack of confidence for lack of trying, and she had been looking for a while, so when a job finally presented itself she felt like she had to take it.
How many cats are there?
she asked.
Thirty-seven. At least that’s how many she named in her will,
Anna said.
Her mom’s friend, Anna, sat across the desk from her. Erin felt more comfortable now they were sitting, since standing, she was practically twice as tall as Anna. Plump for someone so active, Anna was curt, but friendly, and always covered in pet hair. She had worked for Happy Paws, the dog walking and pet sitting service, for a long time and thought she might be able to get Erin a job.
Without access to a vehicle, this is really all I have for you,
