I started reading in 6th grade and by 7th Grade, I was hooked on writing. Whether it be from my need to write, or entertaining my children, when they were small, I've always done some form of writing. Throughout my life, I find by keeping a journal, it can be used for stories and story ideas. The journal has helped me many times to clear my mind of clutter. My life is simpler when I write. When I'm able, I enjoy reading, puttering with flowers, inside or out, and enjoying my DVD collection of movies.

Chapter One
Stashia Foster's small Omni hummed and bounced along a back road in Wilford, Idaho. She was pushing her little hunk-of-junk to its limit.
Her boss would not like waiting for her. He would want to get into the fields, while the weather was good and he could dig the potatoes with minimal exposure to the cold.
She smiled.
Her boss was her boyfriend.
Agriculture was part of the community. The school district would put the learning process on hold the second week in October. It was considered Spud Vacation. While the young people were out of school, farmers obtained the their harvest crew from these money, hungry teens.
As in the past years, her boyfriend, David Darby, had put several teenagers on the combine at the beginning of the harvest. Some of them didn't like the ten to fourteen hour days and would end up quitting. Some went to the spud pits, because they couldn't handle the rocking of the combine or the dirt that would billow up around them.
This year, the harvest had lasted longer than the two weeks of vacation.
Cold weather and rain had made it impossible to get in the fields. The teens that had stuck with the job, had to go back to school Monday. They would be back in the spring for planting.
She had moved back to the area a little over six months ago. Shortly after, Dave and Shasta found each other again.
It was if the years apart never happened. The time they spent together was an adult version of the teen years. The only difference was, they made love as often as they could.

There were three fields left.
On Thursday night, in desperation Dave had called Stashia to see if she could help with the remaining week needed to bring in the crop. Could she ride the combine beginning Friday?
Her job as a temp worker, allowed her to take the time off to help with the harvest.
Not to many adults liked to ride the combine. Since she had grown up riding one, he thought of her when his young crew had to leave.
Friday night, when they had closed down, she had gone home. It had been years since she felt that tired. Even though her body craved Dave's touch, she couldn't go to his home.
Saturday and Sunday nights were different matter. During the day, seeing, talking to him and stealing kisses when ever possible, set her blood on fire. After it became to cold to dig, she needed to touch him at the end of the day. They had gone back to his place and the tiredness slipped away from them, like their clothes, as they walked in the door and
