Leverage: Authorship for the New Millenium: Influential Authorship, #1
()
About this ebook
Based in original research, this ground-breaking book challenges the age-old "wisdom" of the publishing industry. By blending over 60 years of influence research from the business and leadership field with nonfiction authorship, this little book doesn't just teach writing skills, it provides a fundamental paradigm shift for authors that takes their books to a whole new level.
Experts and thought leaders will discover: What influence really is, why it matters, and how they can leverage it as an author; what the fundamental building blocks are to develop more powerful content far more easily, how the power of intentions guide content development to meet – or even exceed – goals and expectations, what really drives readers to take action in their lives, the biggest mistakes a new author can make, and much more!
Lori Anne Rising
Holding the vision to see every man, woman and child living the highest and best expression for their lives, Lori Anne strives to be a living example of overcoming, rising above, and learning to turn lemons into lemonade (except she can’t drink any because it’ll give her heartburn). Her writing career began at just 10 years old when she was paid to help write letters to clients for a family member’s business. Lori Anne fell in love with the written word in her journals, but discovered their real power through business communications, academic research, author coaching and finally, publishing. Her first short memoir piece was published in the international bestselling compilation, Finding Fulfillment in the Spiritual Age (download Lori Anne's chapter for FREE from her website at www.LoriAnneRising.com). Original, authentic and powerful are not just a cute, catchy phrase. They are the central values upon which Lori Anne strives to live. They demand openness, vulnerability, and courage, and her writing reflects these values along with an occasional bit of sarcasm and saltiness for flavor. Lori Anne is a Bestselling Author and Certified Life Coach, and holds degrees in English Literature, Women’s Studies, Organizational Communications and Leadership. Why I Wrote This Book
Typical books about writing that are already on the market talk a lot about how to generate ideas, build content, or even the grammatical structures that go into writing. There are books that talk about marketing. There are books that talk about how to make money as a writer or author. There are specialized books about how to develop material for specific genres. There are books that talk about the craft and art of writing. There are books that talk about the practical application in today’s world of writing. There are books that talk about the publishing industry, promoting either self-publishing or traditional publishing (rarely both in the same book, though). There are books that talk about how to develop a book proposal that sells.
There are so many books on the market already about writing that almost any question has an entire book about how to answer it – almost. Before now, as many books as there have been about writing and becoming an author, I can guarantee you that there has never been a book like this.
How can I say that? Because I looked.
At one point in my research, I got stuck and needed direction. My advisor suggested that I specifically look for others who have done this kind of work before and look at how they handled the challenges I was running into. I took several days to scour through worldwide databases to try to find anyone who was doing this kind of research, or even asking similar questions. I found nothing and no one. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing even close, in fact (at least not in English, anyway).
While this put me back at square one to find answers to the challenges I was having, it also told me that this research and this material is absolutely ground-breaking for authors.
What makes this book so special?
It is not that it is written by an experienced best-selling author (although it is). It is not that it is written by someone who coaches authors and has clients who have become best-selling authors (although, that too is true). It is not even that it has been written by someone with a master’s degree (It has). Many, many books have authors who can claim these same or similar credentials; some can even claim more.
But, it’s not about the credentials. It is how this book (and its derivatives) came into being.
It is not just built on the years of experience that I have, but on rigorous, academic research; research that had never been done until I started asking a different question.
For my master’s thesis project, I chose to devote an entire year to understanding one question: What makes a nonfiction author incredibly influential? My intention was to uncover a formula, process, or steps of some kind that I could turn around
