About this ebook

A page-turning debut written in the tradition of R.L. Stine's Fear Street, Goosebumps or
Haunting Hour.

In the town of Riverville, there is a street.
It was a street where they used to hang witches.
It is a street where students from school are known to have vanished without a trace, even
till today.
It is a street where strange things happen to people.
It is called Fox Street.
But kids at school call it by another name.
The Witch's Street.
Kim has been having nightmares every night, dreaming that she was a gypsy living under
Nazi occupation, in a past life. And in her nightmares, is also a young man, whom she is not
only had been a prisoner of, but also that he happened to be obsessed with her. Her
nightmares seem to be true, when she sees that very same young man who had been
obsessed with her, from her dreams, joining her class. It seems that the past has come back
to haunt her.

Free Chapter:
The cellar was very cold. All she had was a blanket and a bed. But no pillow. And she
had a window to look out to. She had been separated from the rest of the other women. And
what was their crime for the ordeal that they had suffered.
They had all been gypsies.
That was their only crime.
Germany and the rest of Europe had fallen under the control of the Nazis and their
leader had made all Gypsies, Slavs, Jews and other ‘undesirable’ into slave labour, destined
for termination.
For death.
As for her, it all started one terrible night. After the Nazis had taken over Prague, the
Jews and Gypsies of that great city had been rounded up by the Nazi police, the Gestapo.
She, like many gypsy women, had been forced into labour camps and made to do all
kinds of work demanded to them by German-speaking military officers, mostly women.
And they were all forced to live and sleep inside concentration camps.
But not her.
The Nazi officer who ran that area of Prague, kept her in a separate cell.
She had been visited every single night since her imprisonment.
She was very beautiful and he did not want her to die. At least not yet, she believed.
Every night, he visited her cell.
And she was afraid of him.
He threatened her before that if she did not do what he said, he would have her entire
family killed instantly.
She had no choice but to become his slave.
She was his personal slave. And the door cell opened.
She saw him entering the cell room.
He was very tall and muscular; with very pale skin, strikingly blue eyes, golden hair,
broad shoulders and his face had a sharp cruel angle.
The face of someone very ruthless, manipulative, cruel, aggressive, very
domineering, intimidating and a typical sore loser.
“Hello my beauty!!! I am in need of some comforting tonight!!!!” the German officer
closing the cell door behind him.
She moved her back against the wall.
She was very scared of him. Of what he could do to her family here in Prague.
He was way much taller than he was.
“Why are you so afraid of me???? I really like you!!! I think you’re beautiful!!!” the
officer walked towards her, easily slipping his arms around her waist. Their hips meet.
She could tell that he was roughly the same age she was. A young man ordering the
locals of the city who were much older than he was, to do what he ordered them to do.
As he was about to force his lips on hers, the whole cell was vibrating.
“The Allies!!!!” the young officer cursed.
She just stared at him, hoping that he would let go of her waist.
“They’re here,” the officer stared out the window.
And then she heard a massive explosion happening all around her.
The last thing she heard and saw was the entire building coming down on the two of
them.

    Past Lives - Jules Fier

    Prologue

    Prologue

Honey, I think you’re going to like it here in Riverville!!! The people are nice!!! Everything is more convenient!!! We even have a mall in our street!!! What is the mall called again???? the blonde woman was shouting to her son all the way from their new kitchen, as she was unpacking the kitchen utensils.

The lady called it Fox Street Mall!!! I have yet to check it out!!! the woman’s teenage son called out back to her from the living room, as he was unpacking some of their stuff there.

Tonight we will have a takeaway!!! Do you want Chinese or Indian??? the blonde woman asked.

I leave it to you mom!!! the boy replied.

That’s what I like about you honey!!! You’re never so picky!!! You are always well behaved!!! A good son, if a mother may say so herself!!! the woman complimented her son.

I think all sons should be good sons!!! I think all sons should make their parents happy!!! And that they should also be good loyal citizens!!! I think that is the way it should be!!! the boy remarked.

You’re such a good boy!!! An angel indeed!!! I think with your kind of personality, you are going to make a whole lot of new friends!!! the woman rejoiced.

    The boy made no response.

I am sure that you are going to enjoy going to your new school!!! You always get good grades!!! Be careful that the whole class does not ask you to do their assignments too!!! the woman chuckled.

In the living room, the boy continued to unpack and place everything that was meant to be in the living room.

His mother loved him because he was so organised.

So efficient. Sometimes even so calculative.

And he never rebelled nor had ever been a troublemaker.

But she had no idea what he was really like.

She didn’t know his true face.

    He was not an angel,

He was far from being one.

    He was a devil.

    With a hidden motive.

    An agenda.

She was probably thinking that it was she who brought him to their new home when in reality he used his IT expertise to get her this new job in Riverville.

A meddling of computer records with the stroke of a keyboard. And now that he was in Riverville, he could finally execute his plans.

And would kill anyone who got in his way.

    Chapter 1

Very good again!!! Another A-plus on your German paper!!! the German class teacher placed Kim’s examination papers right on top of her table.

    Kim held her paper high.

A large red circular mark, with an A+ inside it. And boldly written in red, Superb Work.

As the German class teacher had finished walking around desks and handing out everyone’s exam papers, she went back to the front of the classroom.

"I regret to say that most of you had failed your German!!! Perhaps you could all take lessons from Kim and please enough with the excuses that foreign languages are hard and that the world

speaks English!!! It would be good for all of you to know another language!!!" the German class teacher lecturing the whole class.

Yeah!!! If we could all just master any language!!! Did Kim tell you that she scores A in French too!!! joked another student.

    Kim looked behind her.

    It was her friend Derek.

The German class teacher gave Kim a serious look, Do you?????

If I lied to you, would that make you happy? Kim joked.

    The whole class started laughing.

The German class teacher gave Kim an annoyed look.

I bet you get A-pluses in being a smart-alec too!!! the German class teacher shot Kim a stern look.

Kim just gave the teacher a thumb-up smile, Always!!!

    The school bell rang.

    Recess time.

    Chapter 2

I only get an A but you get a plus too!!! But still if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have passed at all!!! Anita Patel hugged Kim Eaton.

Maybe I should have taken up that offer from you last week Kim!!!! Derek Lee grabbing his glass of juice and drinking it.

You should have. I told you so!!!! Kim shot Derek a victorious look.

    They were all good friends.

Kim was a very attractive brunette and many kids in high school told her that she looked like a couple of famous celebrities.

That was the one thing that puzzled everyone else.

And she was a Goth too.

She’s such a great coach Derek!!! If you had come to her house for French lessons, you would have also passed French!!! Anita smiled, as she was forking spaghetti off her plate.

Anita was a third-generation Pakistani migrant whose parents had moved to Riverville.

    "And how is it
