Literary Coaching - Guidelines for writing, publishing and disseminating
()
About this ebook
Writing is a vocation, born of a need of each person. It is an inner manifestation, a communicational expression, be it artistic, scientific or of another literary genre. It is a property of the human being, communication through writing. This means that each one will do it in their own way and form, in the same way that each reader will interpret the content of a book, magazine or other, in a different way, understanding according to their own abilities and knowledge.
San Buenaventura de Bagnoregio, wrote in the thirteenth century, that there were four ways to make a book:
1. Being a Scribe (Scriptor): Someone who writes the works of others without adding, changing or removing anything from the original text.
2. Being a Compiler (Compilator): Someone who writes works of others with additions that are not his (also others).
3. Being a Commentator (Comentator): Someone who writes the works of others and their own, giving them the
primary place to the works of others with clarifying aggregates.
4. Being an Author (Auctor): Someone who writes his own works and others, but giving the primary place to his writings and adding others to assert his own text.
Therefore, a person who writes is, in short, an Author, regardless of whether he has published his work or not. And the difference lies in the legal nature that the company manages by identifying each work, the ISBN. This number makes up the legal nature of a publication, and inserts this work in the international bibliographic bases, it is the identity document of each book.

Prologue to the edition
Writing is a vocation, born from a personal need. It is an inner manifestation, an expression of communication, be it artistic, scientific or of another literary genre. It is ownership of the human being, communication through writing. This means that each one will do it in their own way and form, in the same way that each reader will interpret the content of a book, magazine or other, differently, understanding according to their own capacities and knowledge.
San Buenaventura de Bagnoregio, wrote in the 13th century, that there are four ways of writing a book:
As a Scribe: Someone who writes the works of others without adding, changing or removing anything from the original text.
As a Compiler: Someone who writes works of others with additions that are not his (from others as well).
As a Commentator: Someone who writes works of others and their own, giving the primary place to the works of others with clarifying aggregates.
As an Author: Someone who writes the works of others and his own, giving the primary place to his own writing and adding the works of others to assert his own text.
Therefore, a person who writes is ultimately an Author, regardless if he has published his work or not. And the difference lies in the legal character that the society administers by means of the identification of each work, the ISBN. This number constitutes the legal character of a publication, and inserts such work in the international bibliographical databases, it is the document of identity of each book. It is important to record the work to protect the literary rights. It is crucial to know the procedures and mechanisms of the editorial, publishing platforms, and the physical and virtual distribution, at the time a literary work is to be known to readers of the world. Thus, it is essential to know how the editing and publishing world work, making a division between the written creation and the dissemination of it. Many authors never publish due to their negative experiences with lucrative editors who speculate with the author’s dream of getting his work published. Through fraudulent promises the Author is asked to disburse money for his creation embodied in a book that will have no more future than the bottom desk drawer. As an ontological Coach, I assert that it is possible to guide creators of the words, because the phrase my English teacher, Ana Peltz, once told me, Miguel, never stop writing!
was a mandate that was engraved in my head. Therefore, the thrust of a Coach will be essential for the authors to decide not to stop writing, and dare to publish their encased works.
Based upon my own experience as an author of a substantial amount of works, having experienced all forms of publication, and without being a crusader against publishers, nor a retinue of editors who play fair, I decided to create the Lectures: Oratorical Coaching, Writing and Publishing
, embodied in this book, where I explain clearly what is this world of literary publishing, its causes, consequences and objectivities. In this book, Coaching is applied as an element for a literary creation, bearing in mind that the creativity of each person can be oriented to a better performance and application. It also analyzes the literary world; its styles, genres, writing, spelling editing, legal character, use of the ISBN, copyright, such as the publication of a specific work, distribution and sale. And practices for literary development, such as the registration of works under the protection of their rights, including guides, modes and recommendations when writing, editing and publishing are detailed.
At the end, literary workshops such as exercises that have been developed and analyzed to be put into practice and performed by the reader, have been included.
Through literary coaching it is possible to persuade the Author trainee in his orientation, search, realization, application and publishing of his literary creation. Considering above all that the most important thing to achieve is the publication of their work.
Coaching
The fundamental aspects that determine the development of countries and companies are the quantity and quality of its leaders. All this is provided through a process called coaching, which sounds complicated, but is easy to apply and offers advantageous benefits to any company that wants to use it to achieve leadership within its field. Coaching concentrates scenarios and actors who compete in a game to win. Pragmatic experiences that are the result of the effort of each player and the articulation of the team with the purpose of triumph will be lived on the game field.
History
Coaching appeared thousands of years ago in ancient Greece and one of its founding fathers was Socrates. The philosopher created a method, which promoted the use of dialogue to reach knowledge and which he used to use with his disciples. He would sit and converse with them and would get them to bring out their inner knowledge by asking them questions at the end. Very romantically, he named it Maieutic, which in Greek means midwife, to symbolize that he also helped to give birth. In his case, not to a child, but to the truth that until that moment, had remained hidden. Once again Coaching made its entrance in the mid-70s, when Timothy Gallwey realized that the worst enemy of an athlete was his own mind, and went on to develop a series of books to help him overcome blockages and obtain increased performance. From the beginning the method proved to deliver surprising results, and they began to set up sports schools under the license of their work, called Inner Game. Two of which were set up in Europe, managed by Sir John Whitmore, who after a while was able to successfully adapt this procedure to the English business environment and gave birth to what is now known as business coaching. From there it was just a small step for it to come down to the personal sphere and be at our disposal. However, the actual model has been attributed to Thomas J. Leonard, who is recognized worldwide as the founding father of Modern Coaching.
Action
For the coach formation you must act upon practices such as reflection and sincerity. Filtering ideas about our own plans through the coaching process needs to be confronted with thought patterns, logic
reasoning of things and the motivations of our life. This process, initially is uncomfortable, but needs be if we truly want to grow, develop skills, and be able to maximize our potential. For this, we must apply certain practices to be successful. The first one is to be humble enough to accept that we might be misdirecting some areas of our life without even knowing it. Another important practice is to be honest and accept that someone else can contribute greatly (the Coach in this case) to maximize our life. The coaching practice requires the use of useful techniques to bring about true transformation. Among some techniques that converge in the practice are active listening, responsibility, and discovery. Active listening awakens reflection, shows esteem and respect, and emphasizes that discovery happens at a personal level. The coach establishes together with the coached (person who receives the coaching or client) a proactive system of support, motivation and maintenance / progress control with respect to mutually agreed upon goals; The responsibility that can be achieved is to break the paradigm of fruitless dependence
. While it is true that we cannot do things individually in the practice of coaching it is assumed that we are responsible for the optimal use of our time, talents and treasures.
Coach
Formerly it was a model usually practiced in the USA. It is a fundamentally humanistic principle adapted to the globalized environment.
