Two Sisters

A book by Two Sisters is exactly that. Raised outside a small Northern Ontario town, surrounded by lush forest, we were no strangers to home remedies and what nature had to offer. A love of animals captured our hearts early on, and grew into our passion. {Freda} - I rescue pets to this day with one rule – once they are here, they stay, never to be abused again. I have raised raccoons, cared for abandoned birds from the wild, and scooped injured bear cubs from the highway. Like most, I have a limited about of money, and with veterinary fees sky rocketing, I turned to what I had learned growing up – what nature had to offer. I experimented, adjusted, and learned through the years. I have been contacted frequently by people who need help with their sick pets, and have been requested repeatedly to “write it down.” We have done so in this guide. We will continue to learn and to revise this information, and always make it affordable for all people who care for their beloved pets.

    FORWARD

My sister and I wrote this guide to assist people in the care of their pets at a time when veterinary fees are soaring and many people are having less and less disposable income. We believe having a pet is beneficial in many ways, from keeping the elderly company, being a friend to a child, to an all-round positive influence in the well being of people in general.

Remedies in this guide are not theoretical, they are tried, tested, and true! All have been used at one time or another. This guide has been written knowing that you may not be always able to get your pet to a veterinarian, or their treatment fees may be beyond your current budget.

If you cannot get your pet to the vet, and your animal is in a life or death situation, you have nothing to lose by trying any treatments contained within this guide.

In such a situation, the purpose of this guide is to give you HOPE! These remedies have worked for us and they can work for you!

    Blessings,

    Two Sisters

    PURPOSE OF THIS GUIDE

This guide was written to assist people in the care of their beloved pets. I’ve rescued cats and dogs for many years, and over the course of this time, I found myself learning more and more about alternative medicines to treat my animals. Rising costs of medical services have left many people unable to take their pets to the vet. Some of today’s fees are well beyond the capacity of even high-income families.

I believe everyone has the right to own a pet. I do not care for the opinion that if you can’t afford the vet bill, you shouldn’t have a pet. Instead of letting the medical industry monetarily exploit the love we have for our animals, let us rediscover our ability to treat basic illnesses at home. You and your pet will both be happier for it.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

As you read this guide, I suggest beginning a collection of the items mentioned within as soon as possible. When an illness or injury does occur, you will be prepared. If you do not have a lot of time or money, just buy an item at a time, or collect whatever you can find in nature. The best medicines grow free if you know what to look for.

As you learn the remedies in this guide, you will learn about administering IV fluids under the skin. I personally think every pet owner should always have at least one bag of the appropriate fluid and necessary IV lines on hand at all times (more on this to come).

Dehydration is a serious concern when it comes to a sick pet. Organs begin to shut down, and poisons become concentrated. Flushing and hydrating an animal gives time for your remedy to take effect.

Sodium chloride and IV lines are available online from reputable medical suppliers at reasonable prices (a resource guide can be found at the end of this book).

Being prepared can mean the difference between life and death!

Antibiotics are another item to always keep on hand. They can be procured without a prescription. AMOXICILLAN, for example, can be purchased in capsule form from such sites as fishmoxfishflex.com

Antibiotics can also be used from unfinished human prescriptions, but be sure to research that the specific ingredients are not harmful to specific animals before you administer anything.
