About this ebook

A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community and among the missing are not only a group of students but PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved--and lost--walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine.

A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn't expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked--no, ran--from over a year ago. She had her reasons--good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn't the kind of man to give up--not on the missing students, or on her.

Life and love hang in the balance in Susan May Warren's breathless story of holding on to hope during a deadly summer of storms.

How does Susan May Warren do it? How can this series just keep getting better and better? Well, I don’t know how she does it but the series DOES get better and better! I’m totally blown away (sorry for the pun) by the storm and tornado chasing in this latest installment of Montana Rescue series. Such intense scenes and adrenaline! And I thought the last book had some pretty serious scenes with the yacht crash! The title Storm Front has several layers of meaning for this book - the literal storm front and the emotional/spiritual ones taking place in the characters’ lives. It is a well-written book with emotional and spiritual depth as well as super-charged action and beautifully flawed characters. Anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with faith, action, and a great plot will love this story (and the whole entire series!). So this is book 5 in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone because there are good snippets of major events from previous books integrated into the story, but reading the previous books will help to fully understand the secondary characters in this book. The story of Ty and Brette is one of misunderstanding, past hurts, self-condemnation, and insecurity. And yet, in the midst of his insecurity, Ty pursues Brette relentlessly and turns her eyes to God. Ty is probably the most emotional and spiritual out of all the heroes in this series. He feels with his entire heart and soul and spirit. Man, I actually cried with Ty through some of his memories and his heartbreaks! And Brette is probably the most independent yet the most needy heroine in the series. She tries so hard to do life by herself but realizes that she can’t. And now I’m itching for the last book in the series which will feature Pete and Jess. Can’t wait!I was given a complimentary copy of the book by the author and Baker Publishing. I was not required to write a favorable review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and subjective.

This was the first Susan May Warren novel I have read, and I had high hopes for it. The summary was very intriguing and the beginning captured my interest right away. Unfortunately, due to several reasons, Storm Front just didn't live up to expectations.

I found the multiple POVs very confusing, and it drew me out of the story to be constantly switching between four different people's distinct stories. While Ty and Brette are the true main characters, Ben and Kacey's story, while interesting (actually I liked their characters better than Ty and Brette), just muddled things up for me.

The plot felt very disjointed and all over the place, and the characters didn't seem very smart or realistic. (Gotta hurry up and save some people because time's running out, but let's take 5 and make out in the parking lot? Hello?)

And on that note, the another main reason this was a one star for me was the romance. It was nearly entirely based on physical attraction, which is so not what I want to read about. There was a distinct lack of depth and realisticity in Ty and Brette's relationship. Also, far too many overly described kisses for my taste. Um, no thanks. This quote particularly really rubbed me the wrong way:

"You have no idea how you look when you talk about God. He's in you or something because when you say it, I believe it."

    "Really?"

"Mmmhmm. And it's completely . . . I don't know. Sexy. Or charming, or maybe just breathtaking."

Really? The definition of sexy is "having sexual appeal". How can someone's love for God have sexual appeal? And if you think it does, then . . . something is not right. It's turning something spiritual into something physical, which just seems weird.

Also, the inaccuracies bothered me and drew me out of the story. There were multiple medical and weatherscientific inaccuracies that had me pausing. For example, Ty twists his previously broken knee severely and thinks he probably won't be able to walk for the next several days. But, he doesn't even get it checked out by a doctor and is completely fine walking, and it's not mentioned again until a few chapters later when he now has a limp.

Overall, this isn't a book I enjoyed, nor would I recommend it.

Another fantastic book by the highly talented Susan May Warren! I love her ability to completely capture me and keep me on the edge of my seat, while weaving inspiring messages through out! This book is filled with amazing, heart capturing characters and just the right amount of plot twists, and I highly recommend it with 4 stars and two thumbs up!

Sometime, you just need a nice book. No cussin’, some fightin’ (for good causes) and the nice guys win. How cool is that?Storm Front is all this and more. Tornados, kids in danger, parents in distress and, at the front of it all, Ty Remington. He doesn’t fit in, too impulsive; which gets him in trouble time and time again. A concert interrupted by the forces of Mother Nature. A missing cross-country team and a very bad dude looking for an innocent women. What pulls all these crisis into prospective? God. ‘Nuf said.

I am really enjoying this series by Warren. Thinking this was the last one, I was surprised by the ending. It was a cliffhanger and I look forward to the next book. Somehow she gives every character a full and deep personality that you remember from book to book. This one got us back to Ty and Brette and reveals their struggles with the recent past. It also seems to bring Ben and Kacey full circle. Highly recommend this series.

This series gets better and better with each book. It was interesting to see what storm chasers do and then what can happen after the devastation of a tornado. I love all the characters in Peak and how they are all coming back in each book. This is definitely a series that you want to read in order to enjoy each story to the best. I received this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Brette Arnold ran away from Ty Remington and their budding love over a year ago. Chasing storms, specifially tornados, with her digital camera pays her medical bills and keeps her occupied... right until it lands her in the same house as Ty. Ty's determination to find Chet King, Ty's mentor and team leader, drives Ty to step out of the shadows he's been living in and direct the current resue mission. He refuses to accept defeat of the mission and works to tear down the walls that Brette uses to keep him away. But loving Brette will come at a high personal cost to Ty. Will Brette open her heart to Ty? Can they embrace love inspite of the looming future? Read more in Storm Front by Susan May Warren.Storm Front, the fifth novel in Susan May Warren's Montana Rescue series, delves deep into Ty and Brette's relationship which began back in A Matter of Trust (Montana Rescue #3). I do recommend reading the entire series because each book is so good and Kacey and Ben from Wild Montana Skies (Montana Rescue #1) feature prominently with their own relationship issues.Like the other novels in this series, the plot is filled with action, suspense, and romance. The storyline easily held my attention through the duration of the novel. Ty was the shining character in this novel for several reasons – his character development as he learns to trust himself and his Creator, his selfless treatment of Brette inspite of her health issues, and his stubborn determination to complete all that he has set his heart to accomplish. Without spoiling anything, I will mention I loved Ty and Chet's conversation about “rescuing” near the end, possibly one of my favorite scenes in the novel.I recommend Storm Front and all the other novels in this series by Susan May Warren to fans of Christian fiction who are looking for a gripping story filled with action, suspense, romance, and faith.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher. Book 5 in the Montana Rescue Series continues in the same, exciting manner. The characters of the PEAK team are back and as good as ever. This story revolves mostly around Ty Remington and Brette. Second set of main characters are Ben King and Kacey.Susan May Warren has again instilled her characters with a lot of life and personality. You are drawn into the story from page one and it keeps your interest to the very end. The main story is resolved in the end, but in true fashion for a series, the bait is cast for the next book and it's a real cliff-hanger, leaving you wanting more. This is a Christian book, but it is not preachy. It shows the faith and growth of faith in the characters. It also shows how you can wander and come back to God. It shows God does not leave you.I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good, clean, Christian book full of action and adventure. This book was given to me but the review is totally my own opinion and choice.

Storm Front is the fifth book in the Montana Rescue series by Susan May Warren. I will start off by saying, wow, there are a lot of characters. I had a hard time keeping track of who's who and who's with who. The beginning was pretty good. It's very much like the movie Twister. It is full of running, shouting, hiding, and crazy driving around tornadoes. After that, I got a little bored. Honestly, I only finished the book because I had to write the review. Otherwise, I would have put it down. Brette and Ty have a history that is not very well explained in this book. I guess you must have to read the previous stories to get the full picture. Brette is mad at Ty for him paying her medical bills. Hmm. In most situations, that is considered very generous and gentlemanly. Eventually, we come to understand that she hates hand-outs because in her experience, people don't help others without wanting something in return. In the present, Brette is working as a photographer with a group of storm chasers. When her path crosses with Ty's, things kinda go south. They like each other very much, but each has built a wall for self preservation. When disaster strikes, they must work together to rescue victims of a tornado.I have read other Susan May Warren books that were much better than this. I wouldn't really recommend it.

Title: Storm Front (Montana Rescue #5)Author: Susan May WarrenPages: 336Year: 2018Publisher: RevellMy rating is 5 out of 5 stars. The astounding thought about this series is that from book one through book five, I have never lost interest. The author writes exceptionally well as to keep readers like myself wanting more! Usually, writers keep to stand-alone books or maybe a short series of novels, but here is an author who defies the usual. Book six will be out later this year to conclude the series. If you haven’t been aware of the series, here is the order in which they need to be read as it is a continuing story line from book to book. The titles are Wild Montana Skies, Rescue Me, A Matter of Trust, Troubled Waters, Storm Front and in November 2018 the final installment titled, Wait for Me.Each novel focuses on a couple of the characters and their unique situations that might conclude in the book or go on to the next one. In this novel, we see the beginning of the story between Ty and Brette, as well as the unique and climactic conclusion of Ben King and Kacey’s story. But that isn’t all, each novel has other rescues that are happening by the PEAK team and other people who have been part of the main story since book one. What really grabbed my attention in the books is how Susan has her various people in the plot that were in the background come to the forefront in a very exciting way! Each player has unique strengths, weaknesses, struggles with their faith, working well together or leaving the PEAK team, etc. In one of the books mentioned above, there is still a murderer on the loose. Now, he has returned to finish what he left undone. When that moment comes in the story, it will really grab your heart and leave you white-knuckling the book to see how it concludes! So, if you haven’t read the novels, please start now so you are ready with me for the exciting conclusion to a very enjoyable and hope filled series!

The storms in this book are both literal and figurative. Ty Remington is part of a Search and Rescue (SAR) team. Brette, Jonas, Nixon, and Geena are a storm chasing team. Ty and Brette have a previous history, and their lives intersect again when a tornado hits near where Jonas and Nixon live. The bad weather ruins country-star and sometimes SAR member, Ben's, plan to elope with his fiancee and puts Ben's father among the missing. Jonas's brother, a high school cross country runner who'd been out training, is also among the missing. Ty and the rest of the SAR group rush to the area to help find Ben's father and end up lodged with Jonas's family (and so are also pulled in to the search for Jonas's brother and other missing townspeople). The plot takes many twists and turns where a certain person or group of people is found with the hope that all the others missing will be with that adult, only to find that it is not so. But the team does not give up until all the missing are accounted for. At the same time, many of the characters are dealing with inner (figurative) storms. Ben is trying to balance his touring as a country star, which he feels he has to do to support his fledgling business, with being a father and wooing his soon-to-be wife. Ty is struggling with guilt over an accident that occurred while he was the helicopter pilot and hasn't been able to bring himself to pilot since. He's also struggling with his feelings for Brette (even before life throws them together again.) Brette struggles with being dependent on others (she doesn't like to) and also with concerns about her health and worries about recurrence--she can't quite bring herself to believe that she's beaten it. Kacey, Ben's fiancee, is struggling with her feelings for him and with his frequent absences and what that means for their life together. The postponements of their wedding leave her wondering if he's second-guessing their life together. The author does a good job of balancing all these plot lines, creating and maintaining suspense, having some romance creep in, and having a storyline that doesn't get fully resolved so that there is a set up to the next book in the series, without having the reader feel cheated that there isn't an ending to that particular storyline. All-in-all, I found it a very satisfying read and hard to put down.I received a copy of this book from LibraryThing Early Reviewers Program in exchange for an honest review.

Fifth in the Montana Rescue series this book captured my attention from the beginning to the end. We were introduced to Brette in an earlier book and she certainly had chemistry with Ty but then she disappeared. In this book early on we find out why she was missing in action for so long. Brette is a strong woman who has been through some difficult circumstances. Brette is a photographer who works with storm chasers. When a horrendous tornado sweeps through a Minnesota town the Peak crew are called on to help and Ty and Brette cross paths again. A race is on to find some missing a group of missing people that may or may not be alive after the devastating tornado that destroyed much of the town. You don't know until toward the end whether or not these people have survived. I stayed up too late to finish this book. Some reviewers have stated that it is difficult to keep up with all the characters. It is not if you have read the previous books. Even if you do not read the previous four at least read the first one in the series which is Wild Montana Skies. The two main characters, Ben and Kacey in that book have a huge part in this story.I am looking forward to the next book in the series. You get a hint of what will be happening in the epilogue of Storm Front.I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revel Publishing through LibraryThing. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.Storm Front is due to be released in May 2018.

When PEAK, a Montana-based search and rescue team, goes to Minnestoa to help search for a missing cross country team after a tornado, their faith and relationships are challenged. Kacey ad Ben meet up after his country music tour is interrupted bythe storm, but Ben's plans to elope backfire when Kacey breaks up with him. Ty also meets Brette who he hasn't seen in more than a year. However, she is afraid of Ty's tendency to rescue others and has just finished with cancer treatments..This is the fifth in a series of six books. It was difficult to keep all of the characters and their relationships and backstories straight without having read the earlier books. There were also a few rather unbelievable parts of the plot--Why does a search and rescue team arrive in Minnesota from Montana before the Red Cross (or anyone else)? And while searching for the missing cross-country tearm in the wreckage of a school, why is a barking dog ignored? Overall this was a nice romance with Christian values, but read the series in order.

While I have not read any of the other titles in the Montana Rescue series, it is obvious from allusions in the book that each of these books centers around a particular story of one of the members of the PEAK rescue team headquartered in western Montana outside of Glacier National Park. STORM FRONT is the story of Ty Remington and Brette Arnold who apparently met in a brief but intense situation that left both of them wanting more, but neither prepared to give up their respective "demons" in order to grab onto that. STORM FRONT details the coming together of these two lost souls as they join in an intense search and rescue effort for victims of a tornado-ravaged community in Minnesota. Interwoven into this tale is the resolution of an earlier tale of country-music star Ben and his long-suffering fiancee Kacey and their teen daughter Audrey, and brief but tantalizing snippets into unresolved issues that were obviously introduced in the series' preceding books. There is enough reference to these earlier stories to give the first-time Warren reader an idea of what has gone before without ruining the stories should one decide to go back and start the series from the beginning. That said, at times you must wait for further information before knowing where a particular track is headed as each chapter starts. A well-written contemporary Christian fiction romance with enough gospel to please the Christian reader while not being too heavy-handed to drive away the secular reader.

I enjoyed this book but since I had never read any of Susan May Warren's other books, I was confused with all of the characters. I kept getting lost in all of the separate story lines. This book was good and the more I read the more I liked it but the book kept referring to past events that were in earlier books in the series so that was a little frustrating.

Storm Front by Susan Mae Warren, was an early reviewer giveaway book for me. I had read several books by this author and liked them. This book was the story of the results of a tornado in a Minnesota community and how it brings out the conflicts and unresolved feelings between the rescuers, a storm chaser photographer, a country music singer, missing victims, and a host of too many other characters. That's the problem I found with this book, too much jumping from one character's story to another and no smooth transition. I only read half of the book before I put it down. I just could not invest anymore time in a story that did not hold my interest.

The fast-paced adventure story held my attention, although I struggled especially at the beginning to know the characters. This book seems to be part of a series. Understanding parts of the book was based on reading those books first, even with some back-story. I felt lost, but the pace kept me reading. I enjoyed the metaphor of storms in the characters personal lives as they fought the physical real storm. The author addressed deeper issues of the heart, and not with a surface, pat answer. The struggles were real, the frustrations were felt.SPOILER: I don't enjoy books that don't "Complete" what was started, but require reading getting another book. Although there was some closure, the epilogue didn't provide that only led you into the next book??

This fifth book in the Montana Rescue series drops the reader in the continuing storyline. Although the tale is complete in itself, the backstories of the main characters factor in the plot, and while fans of the series know them, new readers do not. Eventually, enough clues are dropped that newbies to the series can mostly figure out the backstories. The characters are well-developed and the intricate plot is an adventurous and exciting one. The writing is good, and the religious aspect is woven throughout the novel in such a way that it adds to rather than detracts from the story. The novel ends on a cliff hanger that sets up the next book. To fully enjoy the characters and their growth, the reader would do well to read the series in order.

Storm Front is really good. It about a woman that blogs about storms. She in one herself but it has to do with beating her own storm. There mission for the Peak Team to help recuse some students and leading member of the peak team named Chet. Will they find them. We meet Ty and the crew. It not always the storms that destroyed and leave us less destruction but we go through that with faith at as well. We learn alot about god and his grace throughout this book.Brette thinks she can do everything herself. She get angry the one and feels like she can not depend on the one person she truly. That one person is god and having faith. She is scared but are we not all scared. We can not have it all without faith or him.Ty also learns as well. He can not fix everything. He can be there but he need to let Brette come to him. Ty also learns lesson as wellSusan does a wonderful job of showing grace though the book and telling of this story. She had me in tears and hoping for Brette and Ty. Will they make it? Will they survive? Will the students be found? We see what twisters can do? We also learn about twisters a bit in the story. Will they survive or will they not?
