Author’s Note
"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction." —Blaise Pascal, Pensées
Unfortunately, so much horror and evil have been done for supposed good. This book is an attempt to break down Jesus’ life from the Gospels. There is so much confusion about him when he was not a complicated teacher at all. I dare say we are the complex ones who often force him and God into our image based on insecurities of self-preservation.
In one of my main character’s terms—uugh!
I sincerely hope this document does for you what it did for me—open my eyes to the spiritual and humanitarian Jesus and not just the religious one. I point out that I use themes and ideas from my other work. As I’ve said before, I reserve the right to plagiarize myself. Also, certain Bible passages and texts are recurrent within this book because I feel they need to be viewed repeatedly for full impact.
Thank you for taking this journey of discovery with me.
Preface
They make such messes,
Zachary declared with disgust as he shook his head.
Alma Aurora sighed deeply. I know.
I just don’t understand human beings—don’t get them at all,
he burst with frustration. Both he and Alma Aurora sat on the fluffiest of white clouds with their eyesight firmly planted on earth.
Yes, they can be very hard to comprehend.
They’re awful, just awful!
Zachary,
Alma Aurora chided. Don’t say that.
But—
Alma Aurora, being the wisest of angels, eyed her newest apprentice with calmness and love. We must be patient with them.
Are you saying we have to agree with their horrible turns and decisions?
he burst.
I’m not saying that at all.
Then what are you saying?
Alma Aurora smiled with serenity. We must help them, guide them, and love them—even when they’re making the worst of mistakes.
How is it possible to do that? They can be such blockheads! I mean, look at what they did to Jesus!
Alma Aurora nodded. Yes, that was pretty horrible but—
But nothing! I can’t take care of a creation that would do that to my hero! I CAN’T, I CAN’T, I CAN’T!
Alma Aurora sighed. I understand where you’re coming from. I really do. I love Jesus with all my heart too. Who here doesn’t? What was done to him tears into my very fabric as it tears into yours. But we’ve got a job to do—a job coming straight from God.
But Jesus—
Jesus would be the first to tell you that you must do your job.
Alma Aurora explained, Jesus worried so much about humans. He considered them so fragile, so vulnerable, so hurt. He really felt for them. Felt with a universe of sentiment gushing through him. Felt with a whirlwind of emotions shifting inside his very being. They took up his whole heart—those fragile beings.
They do such terrible things!
Unfortunately, many of them can be so misguided sometimes,
Alma Aurora unhappily murmured.
Even Jesus sometimes grew impatient with them when he was down there in the flesh,
burst Zachary. Even now, he’s at times frustrated with their lack of sense. Who wouldn’t be?
Yes, but—
All Jesus ever did was to try to help them and look at what they did to him!
the emotional angel cried.
Alma Aurora reminded him that Jesus loved human beings, so much that he sacrificed his life for them. "Realizing this is how I get through what was done to him," she asserted.
There just isn’t an excuse for those silly creatures’ behavior! We should go down there and pound some sense into them.
Now, Zach—
There’s no excuse for them!
Alma Aurora explained that it was Jesus himself who asked for leniency on human beings. He asked God to forgive them as he was going through the most excruciating pain on the cross.
But—
Zachary, you know what I’m saying is true.
Zachary grew pensive as he took a deep breath, frowning. Yeah, it’s true,
he murmured, grumbling.
Of course it’s true.
"Humans just have too much free-will to do stupid things like crucify Jesus!"
Zach—
"You can’t deny that those silly creatures don’t seem to get it through their heads how lucky they are that our Creator loves them so much to give them free-will!"
Alma Aurora sighed unhappily. Unfortunately, there are certain individuals who use this tremendous blessing to commit the most heinous acts. We, angels, are only given a certain amount of power to do good—humans have all kinds of power in their hands.
Spiritual teachers have been sent to earth to show them how to become better human beings. Instead, they use these teachings for nothing short of evil!
Zachary rigorously scratched his head wondering how things went so wrong on earth.
This is why we must guide them.
I wouldn’t even know where to start,
insisted Zachary.
She smiled deeply. That’s easy. We start with a hero named Jesus.
Yeah—Jesus. Hooray!
