    James Boyd?

Finally, I remember thinking. The Lee Brook Restaurant was always packed on weekends, but forty-five minutes on a wooden bench was enough to strain even the strongest nostalgia. I stood up and stretched, savoring the little pops in my spine. The man sitting on the bench across from me did the same, but I barely noticed at the time. I was busy looking forward to my first heart attack hamburger in eleven years.

The Lee Brook isn't the biggest or the cheapest place to eat in Milford, but dinner there was probably the only thing I'd still been looking forward to since I got back to the creepy little town. My childhood go-to was engraved in my memory: a hamburger as big as my dad's hand, with crispy bacon and thick, gooey cheese. We'd called it a heart-attack hamburger - and it was so good that even the forty-five minute Saturday wait wasn't enough to make me give up on having one.

I’d paid no attention to the stretching man when we'd stood up, but when I started towards the waitress behind the reception desk he did too. I gave him a curious glance and he returned it in kind.
