About this ebook

Wyatt Nolan brings the Elemental Earth back into reality, she is not a human but has the power to save the Earth. Terra unites the four Elementals together to battle the dark magic. Learning of love and trust, they join their forces with the magical realms surrounding us and take the darkness.
Dark witches enslave the humans and poison the Earth keeping the Elementals weak as the Earth continues to die. Bringing the magic realms together, they use the last gateway to battle for the Earth survival. The Earth is the last gateway that connects the worlds and if it dies all realms will die.
Terra finds that her life was a lie and she has been a prisoner in the human world for centuries. Wyatt releases her from the curse, so she may become the Elemental of Earth once again.
Rejoining her sisters Adrianna, the Elemental of Water, Seraphina the Elemental of Fire, and Venillia the Elemental of Air. Together they have the power of all the elements and can battle the Dark Witch Desdemona.
Joining with the Queen of the Faye, Prince of Elves, dwarves, and humans, the journey takes you their worlds to find the fates and reclaim their true destinies.
Polluted waters and air keep the elementals weakened, but the fire still burns bright as they battle on, through hardships, regret, and loss they must grow past their egos and anger to learn to love and forgive again.

Loving literature and the adventure a good book can take you inspired me as a young child to be an avid reader. As I grew older I played with poetry finding unique ways to send messages that were dear to me. As an adult, my messages have become less dark and more concerned. My first series of books are short novelettes about the Elementals and the destruction of the Earth. The mistreatment of the Earth and its inhabitants are something that I hold dear to me. Recognizing everyone is unique but should be allowed to express themselves. The fantasy realms help me leave the world we live in, and adventure in one we would only dream of. The adventures I write are a combination of my dreams and beliefs brought to life. I had worked in manufacturing most of my life and had been downsized several times. I went on to college received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Programs and am now a Buyer/Planner by day and Fantasy write by night. Writing started out as a way to express and vent about the trials of life. It has grown to be a way to share with others who want to get away from the stress of life to a world of beauty and magic.

CHAPTER 1: TERRA
THE FAMILIAR LOW WHITE ceilings and gray walls, it is my small room. I lay in bed listening to the others while the house stirs; the girl home is loud even in the early mornings. Today is the last day I will see this room, I turn eighteen today.
We live in a small part of the state after the war they gave the states the entire government and control over their people. My mother told me stories of how one government ruled fifty states in the beginning, but the war changed that. It was so long ago when she passed; I was seven and put into Mary’s Home for Ladies.
Terra!
loud pounding on the door, a deep raspy voice, Susan, the warden is bellowing. A tall woman with silver hair and eyes, her voice shows she has lived a hard life and blames everyone else for it.
Bout time you get out, we need the room, and you need to get your testing done so you can leave.
The tests decide what I do for the rest of my life, and where I shall live. I am not excited; we have been taking the tests since we were twelve, always get the mills. The tests decide if we go to the mills, the mines or lucky enough to work upstate. A quick glance around at the room, no special memories here, but I recognize where everything is. I get ready, then get out as quaintly as Susan put it.
It’s time to get the room ready for Molly!
I am out of the room, I am getting out,
I retorted as snotty as she speaks.
Step out on to the front stoop of the house, the warmth of sunshine on my face; the fresh air fills my lungs. I begin my walk to the testing center. Others are walking toward the large building. They are in groups and chattering amongst them; I quicken my pace to pass them.
The testing facility is large and shiny, the most excellent building in our town. Stone pillars offset the entryway where the huge glass doors open to those who turned eighteen today. A woman who works there, I wonder what she tested to get this job.
Terra Primstone
is the voice I muster.
Room 4 Section D
without looking up the girl speaks. The corridor is long taking me to room 4. The building is frigid even though the temperatures are reaching in the nineties. I come to the door with a large number four etched into the glass.
I walk through the door; it feels as a weight just dropped on me, chills running through my spine. The desk is marked section D, I sit and wait until they call my name. After hours of waiting, my name is called to go into the tunnel.
The walls spin and images flash before me; the conveyor moves you through the tunnel. Horrific images are in the beginning people dying in the war then it goes to the mines and the mills.
The last sets of images followed by Governor Isaac’s voice, After the wars, we recognized we had to support a job for every able body to work. These tests monitored your reaction to each image; gives us the ability to place you in a career best suited for you and still meets our needs. Please head to the mills for further instruction.
The conveyor stops and the door open. Every year since I was twelve, it has told me to go to the mills. I meander toward the offices, savoring the sunshine and freedom, small blades of grass breaking into the cement structures around me. I remember back to the stories my mother told me of trees were everywhere, in forests and valleys.
Today is cement or steel, the only trees, and vegetation is in the greenhouses where they grow the foods. I saw a river once before they became wastelands. Stories of oceans on the other sides of the country and those waves are so dangerous they capsize ships. I wonder how the world looked if it still had grassy knolls and big shady trees. Our history books do not have pictures, but my mother used to paint them. When she died, they destroyed her work, they told me her work is worthless.
The mill smells of sulfur, its dark gray structure, shows where from the elements are causing rust and pitting in the steel. I put my hand into the security scan, and it reads my name and the big doors open. A tall man is waiting for me, he looks tired, circles under his blue eyes and his dark wavy hair is straying along his face. It is hot; the sweat is dripping from his forehead.
Terra Primstone?
Yes, that is me,
this meek voice isn’t mine.
I am Wyatt Nolan; the supervisor of the mill and I handle the apartment accommodations. Your test did not give you an actual position, it said mills. I will show you your apartment, and then we will figure out what job shall be yours.
His voice tight and dark, I don’t think he enjoys his career. I wonder how he got a position such as this; he can’t be much older than me.
We walk through the corridors through the mills, the grain mills are first. Their loud snapping sounds as it breaks the grains for cooking. The machines are large, dark steel, the lighting is dim, I can barely make out the people clearing the conveyors and boxing the ground wheat. We are turning the corner, the processing center, the foods inspection. The hallways are long and so hot; it drenches my body with sweat. I hope I get to shower once in the apartment.
We turn to another hall; my guide is silent and stoic. He has not said a word or changed his expression since he told me his name.
Finally, we stop, and he looks at me, hope you have made a note of the turns in the hallways. Go up the stairs, you are 4D. I will be up soon,
He says politely, I notice the circle thing in his ear. He must listen to something.
I walk up the stairs, everything is so dark, I can’t see in front of me. I find 4D and open the door. The apartment is lovely; it surprised me. A short hallway opens to a living room. Fully stocked kitchen; this might not be so bad. Everything is the gray steel, same throughout the mill. Not much for color, but I have big windows letting in light. The refrigerator is full of food. I have never seen so much food before, never allowed in the kitchens at home.
Never cooked; wonder if I’ll enjoy it. I turn toward the other hallway and pass a small bathroom, same gray steel. The bedroom door is open; it has a real bed, not a cot. The room is unfriendly looking; everything is steel, the bed frame, the dresser and framing of the mirror. A tap on the door, Wyatt walks in, I hope it's ok for you in here
his monotone voice can be nerve-racking. I turn and see those blue eyes, depth, but no warmth and no friendship here.
We have curfews, you must be in your apartment by 10 PM, we give you today to get comfortable, and you start work tomorrow 7 AM sharp. You will be in the office trained as my assistant.
He turned and walked out.
I have the day to explore; take advantage, I whisper to myself. First a shower, oh wonderful hot water. Put on my new clothes, how they know my size, I wonder to myself as I pull the jeans on and a top. I head out the door. I see the stairs to figure my way out, so deserted, everyone must work, I want outside so I can smell the fresh air.
Outside, everything is cement and steel, but fresh air. I walk along the path that goes to the mines, go pass little vending machines, food dispensers. Learn to cook this week since I have no money to start.
The loud music coming from the alley it is a carnival. A little woman grabs my arm. She is at least seventy but has a grip of steel.
I’m sorry if I am not supposed to walk here.
I notice her etched face, her skin ash with age and wrinkles. Her strange eyes, almond-shaped, no color in them. Her white hair pulled into a tight bun, with strands popping out from hard labor and sweat.
You turned 18 today, on the summer solstice?
her voice is thick.
Yes, can you let go of my arm please,
my voice wavers, she’s creepy.
They orphaned you, and your name is Terra?
How do you know this?
Your mother died of illness and your father dead... hmmm.
Who are you?
I am who you seek in each lifetime; your soul looks for me.
What are you saying?
The book, I show you the book, and then you will see.
OK
I am leery of this woman, but she knows who I am, I dislike this.
She runs into a small tent, Come in Terra.
I look around the alley; people are wandering around to help me if she tries something. I walk into the tent; it is bigger than the lane and symbols painted everywhere. A large table is in the middle with a black silk cloth covering the top.
A huge book lies on the table. Your soul has been seeking my ancestors for hundreds of years, you have us wake your soul when you turn 18 in vessels age.
My vessel?
The old woman opens it, and it’s full of pictures and incantations; I step back, you’re a Witch?
No, no, I am a Druid, you are ancient and time for you to find your sisters.
My sisters? I am an orphan and an only child!
Heat is building up in my back and neck. This woman is crazy, this talk is treason, the state will execute us.
Read the book and remember who you are
The old woman bellows at me, staring at me with her colorless eyes. There are pictures in the book, the first is a drawing, and it says 200 BC, the drawing is of me. I have long black hair, dark green eyes, and my pale skin. How does she have a picture of me in 200 BC?
They did not have writing tools, let alone colors to draw within 200 BC.
I bellow back at her in disbelief.
Read the incantation.
Polaque atopa, a catro, a terra, o vento, a auga elume. Traiacousafinao caosReighnpara salvara nai decreación eunirse aelaco paide creación. Vanrestaurar a maxiana terracomo debería ser.
Terra looked at the old woman, the color of emeralds comes into her eyes and her white hair transcended into the long flowing red hair. She was beautiful, that is all Terra could acknowledge, Who are you?
still in shock and disbelief.
In time you find, the four, the earth, the wind, the water, and fire. Bring the end to chaos reign to save the mother of life and unite her with the father of creation. They will restore the magic in the earth as it should be. I don’t speak this language, yet I understood what I said, what the hell is happening?
I am Gaia, your true mother of your soul, you must remember the quest of when humans destroyed the Earth, we must protect it, Terra.
They executed My father for this talk, are you insane?
Your vessel never had a father, I told you this, so you will understand today you are not a human but an Elemental. Your soul’s father is of time, and they must rejoin us, or the earth will die. Find your sisters, the four of you together and bring the bond to join us. Find the Faery folk, the Queen will aid you once she knows who you are, the Timekeeper will help you.
I blinked, and the carnival had disappeared, who the hell is the Timekeeper and Faery Folk. This must be a dream. I lost the urge to explore and walked home. Weird shadows are in every corner of the town. There is a form striding toward me, its tall and muscular, my stomach is turning, the shadows are moving closer, but staying hidden. Fear is taking a grip of me.
Did you read the incantation?
a deep voice coming from the form but somewhat familiar I recognize this voice.
Who are you?
Did you read the incantation?
Wyatt steps in closer, now I can see who he is.
What is this? Why are you asking me if I read the incantation? Did you know that woman? What are those shadows?
Wyatt looks at her, recognizing the fear in her voice, I am the Timekeeper, they sent me to help and watch over you. If you read the incantation, your memories will return, don’t look at the shadows, they do not recognize who you are, we have to move.
He whispers this as he grabs my arm, I am in a daze, this cannot be happening, I don’t know him and what is a Timekeeper.
Get it together Terra, they will recognize you soon, I will explain as much as I can, but we have to move now.
CHAPTER 2: THE START OF THE JOURNEY
NONE OF THIS MAKES sense, we walk out of town, reviewing what just happened and now I trust a stranger to tell me the truth. Never have I been outside our little town. Grew up with the stories and longed to see the other states, but they forbid it, they do not allow us to travel. Where are we going?
I muster as much of my voice possible.
The Faye folk live in a park outside Illinois, in the state called Louisiana. We must go there, and it will take weeks walking. We will need to find a horse. But let’s get somewhere safe and make camp.
We’re not safe walking now? Is it the shadows, what are they?
Don’t act as you see them it will draw attention to us, and yes they are dangerous.
The gate to exit our town is significant. The electric fence surrounds us. Wyatt holds up, and ID card and the guard let us pass easily, He stares at the ground never looking up at me. We have been walking for hours; my legs are burning.
I am running to keep up with his long strides. He is not even breaking a sweat, envy pours over me. What do you mean I will get my memories back since I read the incantation?
Just hoping the whole trip will not be in silence. Only when we reach a break in the cement and grass and trees, appear they do still exist. I gasp in amazement, it so beautiful, the trees reach up in the sky, and the air smells so clean.
Wyatt is staring at me with a small smirk on face, you have never seen one have you, a tree and grass?
No. It’s magnificent. Are there many of these places, I believed everything was cement now?
Trees soaring higher than she can see in the sky and small flowers surround the grasses at the base of the tree. Greens so soft, I can’t help but lay in it and roll. I could never get used to the beautiful texture of it and the smell, so fresh and alive.
We can set camp here.
Wyatt drops the backpack. I hadn’t even noticed he was carrying, pulls out strange blankets that are thick and warm looking, and calls them sleeping bags.
How do you have so much knowledge regarding the tools and items of the past, aren’t you from Bago? They took such measures so we could not repeat the history by removing the past from us.
I ‘m a Timekeeper, I record every second of every day. There are hundreds of us recording history, so they will never forget it, only the humans lose the memory of true history.
I don’t understand, we are humans, you act as if you’re not?
You’re not either, I was hoping the incantation would bring everything back to you, I guess it takes time. We are part of the elements, we are in our vessels, so we can appear human to them and interact.
Your mother is Gaia, the old woman that appeared to you, although she was in disguise. She’s trapped in sleep. The humans put her in roughly 500 years ago. She can only communicate in your mind and through Druids, but it weakens her, so she cannot stay long in one place. You have been reborn in a human vessel every fifty years for the last 500. It was a punishment for you to live with humans and recognize your crimes against the elements. They sent you to live with them so that when the time comes, you can decide how to heal the Earth. You are the Elemental of nature, Terra. Your sisters are wind, water, and fire. The four of you together can wake your mother and then she can heal the Earth and restore you and me to our original forms.
Why are we punished, what crimes did we commit? Were we the only ones forced to stay in human form?
Amazed that she is asking these questions and not if he is insane, the whole story sounds like a fairytale.
The most I can say about our crimes are that I helped you and, yes we are the only ones that forced to stay vessel form. They forbid us to discuss the sin we committed that is all I can say. We need to get sleep, or it will weaken our vessels.
Terra nods numbly, not sure of what she believes, but if he wanted to hurt her, he would have by now. She crawls into the sleeping bag and falls asleep.
The fog is thick and surrounding her and Wyatt; the shadows are moving in closer to her. They chant my name and an unfamiliar language. As they come closer, I can see the disfigurement, they appear as if they were human at one time, but not anymore.
The sun is rising, and it burns the fog, the shadows scurry to stay hidden. I look at Wyatt and try to remember what he said, external memories are coming back but not of him, but I have more questions than answers from them. He has a long, strong jaw; she notices as he sleeps. His dark hair is sticking in all directions now. His straight nose is perfect, his tan enhances his features, he is beautiful. He looks so calm in his sleep and peaceful. I pick at him to wake him.
What the hell, there are more pleasant ways to wake someone besides throwing pebbles and poking them awake.
I remember, a woman with long red hair and green eyes like mine. She has skin so white, and she is beautiful, but I do not know who she is, but she keeps calling my name telling me to find her.
That would be Gaia in her true form; she is stunning and vindictive, controlling but mother of the Earth all in one.
He hesitates before going on, trying to decide what to tell me. 500 years ago, humans dug up the forests and covering them in cement to build the apartments. They built faster than the mother could heal, and the Earth became sick. Gaia became weak and tried to reason with humans, and they found a Witch. The Witch entranced Gaia into an eternal sleep, she is immortal, but she can sleep forever.
Sit and listen to Wyatt and visions came before my eyes as he spoke. I see me and the sisters holding our hands up as thunderstorms erupted, lighting strikes the trees creating fires, tornados engulfing cities and trees growing and attacking the humans. Then darkness and laughter, another woman with black hair and ice-blue eyes laughing as we become weak using our powers.
I have powers and my sisters too,
blurted out of my mouth before I realized it.
Yes, you control nature, the trees, animals, and shifting, but as a human, you are weaker, moderation is important until you find the balance in your human form.
Can you show me how I do it?
No, I have only watched you do it, your sisters can. Wish you could shift into a horse right now.
That is something I can do with incantations, or do I visualize,
I am getting frustrated.
I thought you would get your memories back at once and I wouldn’t be babysitting you. Let’s get moving daylight is burning.
All of my memories? Even the crime I committed?
Wyatt turned and stared with those steel-blue eyes and replied, No, I doubt the crime will be there for you to remember.
CHAPTER 3: ADRIANNA
THE CALM LAKE IS AS smooth glass, Adrianna makes her way toward it. Her long transparent form floats on to the water as she investigates the depths. Reciting Terra three times as she closes her eyes and the waters swirl around her.
She’s in action and why is she with Wyatt, will they never learn.
Adrianna shakes her head with disappointment. Maybe mother will send her in my direction.
The image fades, she notices the tall blonde figure approaching. Transparent as she but not near as tall. Wide masculine stance as arrogance flows off the man’s gait toward her.
My Horardo, you’re not wasting time, she has only just awakened and no memories yet, and you’re here why?
Adrianna asks.
She is my betroth, where is she, how long before she gets here?
Horardo snaps
You will see in time, get off my beach Timekeeper, I do not answer to you.
I will get off your made-up beach when you tell me what you saw.
Jealous, I can create a beach, and you can only record it.
It’s an illusion. What did you see?
Horardo barks.
She is awake and heading to the Faye Queen, we will have to see who she sends her to, that is all I saw.
That is not all.
I don’t care, you’re boring me, leave before my illusion of a typhoon strikes you,
smiling as she says this as the idea pleases her.
A grunt and sneer are all Horardo can muster, her storms come to life. He struts out as cocky as he strutted in but not any wiser of where his betrothed is.
Adrianna stared into her pool of waters thinking of a time when life was not so complicated. Terra was the most loved, she was full of life and compassion. Adrianna preferred that she received all the attention, that gave her time to walk through the waves, just live. Remember, a time before the humans ruled, and they feared the Elementals.
Her pools showed her where her sisters were, and Wyatt was taking Terra straight to Adara the Faye Queen and keeper of the birds and lover to many Timekeepers. Adara has no love for the Elementals but she cannot lie, and she has never lured Wyatt into her bed. Terra the secret to unlocking everything and her punishment has gone on so much longer than they meant it. The humans destroyed everything, and Mother vanished. Seraphina, the Elemental of Fire and Verniella for Air, have gone went separate ways due to mistrust. Terra must be able to bring us all back together, or the Earth will die soon.
