The Benefits Of Coconut Flour
Coconut flour is a byproduct of coconut pulp and is high in fiber. The ‘residue’ that is left over from the manufacturing of coconut milk is ground into flour. For those who are on grain free diets, coconut flour is a great alternative flour. It contains 14% coconut oil and 58% dietary fiber as compared to only 29% in soy flour and 42% in wheat bran. The remaining 28% consists of water, protein and carbohydrates. The carbohydrates present in this flour are non digestible.
There are two types of carbohydrates
Digestible carbohydrates contain starch, sugar and most importantly calories.
Non digestible carbohydrates are also called fiber, and have no calories.
