Introduction
There’s nothing quite like a baby’s first months of life, as they are arguably the ones that will have the most impact throughout the first stages of their development: their overall health, mood and energy are all greatly impacted. It’s normal for infants to double in weight during the first 5 months of their lives, and by their first year, even their brain size has increased by thirty percent. Who else but a baby is able to grow over 10 inches in a year?
––––––––
If you’re a first-time parent, you’re probably starting to feel stressed out about all the things you’d need to do in order to make all of this growth and development happen. The good news for parents is that nature pretty much takes care of things and that it’s not necessary to do that much, as the transitions a baby goes through seem to occur almost on schedule.
––––––––
Unlike pretty much everything else today, babies don’t come with instruction manuals. In fact, no one knows how to raise children by the book because such a book does not—neither will it possibly ever—exist.
––––––––
This book does not claim to contain all the information that parents will ever need. Rather, its main goal is to simply steer parents in the right direction as far as raising a baby is concerned. There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to raising children because they all have very different needs and personalities. Hence, this book was written in the hope of serving as a basic guide for parents regardless of what makes their newborn unique.
––––––––
Whether you are a first-time parent or a veteran currently waiting for your fourth one, I hope that the advice in this book helps make life a just a bit easier for you and your new family member.
