    ''Tis the Season''

Sammy, his mother said, let's go shopping for an early present for you at the Salvation Army store.

When his mother said his name, Sammy's head snapped up from reading his tattered Superman comic book. His eyes sparkled with happiness. When he heard 'shopping' he came to full attention. He said, "Wow mom. That's a good idea. Can I get a new toy?

Not now, honey. You need some new Pajamas and socks. Maybe at Christmas there might be a toy for you. With daddy out of work and me the only one working, we really don't have much money to spend this holiday season.

Sammy saw a tear roll down his mother lined face. His smile disappeared as she wiped it away and turned to prepare for a short bus ride to the Salvation Army store.
