Sandra finishes her new moon ceremony appreciating the beauty of nature, but she quickly realizes something is terribly wrong. 

 

The small copse where she performs her ceremonies transforms into a haunted maze of sounds that don't belong. Armed with only her athame, Sandra attempts to find the source of the strangeness. 

 

Upon finding the source of the problem, Sandra must then set out to clean it up, a task that could put her very existence at risk.

Bonnie Elizabeth could never decide what to do, so she wrote stories about amazing things and sometimes she even finished them. While rejection stung her so badly in person, she spent most of her young life talking to cats and dogs rather than people, she was unusually resilient when it came to rejections on her writing, racking up a good number of them. Floating through a variety of jobs, including veterinary receptionist, cemetery administrator, and finally acupuncturist, she continued to write stories. When the internet came along (yes, she’s old), she started blogging as her cat, because we all know cats don’t notice rejection. Then she started publishing. Bonnie writes in a variety of genres. Sandra listened to the sounds around her. It was what she did during the long nights when the moon was dark and the trees whispered their stories. She listened to their tales of men with axes and noisy machines tearing them down. She heard them cry and scream in pain, learning of the premature death of yet another one. Branches whipped above her head, bereft mourners with more anguish than shame, howling their pain .

Then the tears fell on Sandra in large drops, lashing at her with its agony. The trees remembered her finally and they still a bit, covering her, keeping her from their pain.
