Introduction
The Adventures of Ben & Friday
‘The Adventures of Ben & Friday’, are a series of books about the colorful exploits of two friends who travel the stars in search of adventure. No matter how ‘different’ we are in the eyes of others, what’s important is the strength within our hearts and how we use that strength to make a positive change in the world around us. There are no obstacles we can’t overcome if we put our heart and soul into it.
- Katherine Reilly
Story Format
Each volume of this trilogy narrates two stories simultaneously as they reach a common conclusion. One story is set in the past and the other in the present. The stories switch back and forth after each chapter, as we get to see how the events of the past, affect the present, and how our actions always have consequences in the future.
‘Ben & Friday Race to the Rescue’, takes place four years after the events of ‘Ben & Friday Go to the Moon’.
Previously
A young boy named Ben, has befriended an alien by the name of Friday. Together, they have experienced adventures both in space and on Earth.
Friday, having been stranded on Earth due to a shortage of fuel, finally managed to get the power she needed to refuel her ship and escape the confines of the planet.
On one of their journeys, they successfully saved an Artificial Intelligence which they named ‘Judy’.
Unbeknownst to them all, her programming has something hidden within it; something of immense value to the treacherous Vendall, a being who seeks this hidden knowledge with the purpose of obtaining eternal life.
With Ben’s help, they succeeded in saving their friend ‘the Moon’ and imprisoning the villainous Grevenar; Vendall’s second in command.
The Moon, now a sentient being thanks to the last life seed which was implanted within it by the heroic alien called ‘Gerald’, overlooks the Earth and the two children, as they attempt to live a normal life.
Friday’s past still remains a mystery however, one which will soon catch up to her.
The Calm before
the Storm
On a desolate planet by the name of Umbrama, lies a prison facility which houses the galaxy’s most wanted criminals. In one of its holding cells, a mysterious figure loomed in the dark. His name, Grevenar.
Now, only a shadow of his former self, he slowly stepped out of the darkness of his quarters as he whispered, Finally, my lord has sent for me.
At that moment, a huge explosion was heard beyond the gates. Men yelling at the top of their lungs as the alarm sounded. After an abrupt power cut, the voices went silent as footsteps were heard approaching his cell. A guard dressed in black, stood in front of Grevenar’s cell. After a brief moment, he then spoke. Lord Vendall has sent us to retrieve you.
It’s about time!
Grevenar responded. Can’t you see ‘time’ is a luxury we cannot afford?
Take me to our master immediately!"
Grevenar slowly made his way to a ship waiting for him outside the facility, accompanied by Vendall’s guards.
This time, those pesky brats won’t meddle in my affairs again!
Grevenar growled in anger as his ship took off.
Meanwhile, on the planet Earth, deep within a secret government facility in Nevada also known as Area 51, dwells an alien being known as Gerald; father, hero, but most importantly a proud member of the now dwindling Indigo race.
It was thanks to Gerald that the Moon had gained sentience, and it was he who had stolen the last ‘life seed’ from the clutches of Vendall the horrible tyrant.
If not for Gerald, Vendall would have mastered the secret to eternal life and would consequently spread chaos throughout the galaxy.
I feel my time is approaching. I must speak to young Benjamin,
Gerald whispered to himself.
Thousands of miles away, as if struck by lightning, Ben’s eyes lit up as he lifted his head abruptly.
Clearly attracting attention to himself, his teacher immediately asked him, Ben? Is there something the matter?
No ma’am. I just feel a bit tired,
Ben answered awkwardly, trying to hide the overwhelming feeling he had just experienced.
Then get on with your test, please. You’ll go home and rest afterwards,
answered his teacher.
After class was over, Ben quickly made his way to Friday, who at the time was surrounded by her friends. She had become a very popular girl at school, due to her
