In the Bible there are many different forms of the word "day" which get translated into the English word "day". We go through the old testament to discover the different forms of the Hebrew that get translated as "day" and suggest a more appropriate definition. These better definitions shed light on a number of different verses in the Bible and suggest that the beginning of the day as per the Bible is different to what we currently observe. There is a new insight in what may have happened in the Garden of Eden. This is the first part. There will be more parts as we proceed on through the Bible.

Foreword

This edition is being released as part one of a series. Rather than add hours and hours of more work into this, it seems to be more useful to put this out there, as part one, so others can glance over it and provide to me the feedback that will show I am on the right track or the wrong track. There is sufficient content to show that there is a case for the definitions of day needing to be separated out as the Strong's designation of H3117 just does not cut it. You may be concerned about having to pay for part two, the updated volume. Fear not, a small credit will be deducted from the price of the next one by using the promo code which you will find at the end of the text.

I have not put the Hebrew letters in this edition. In a future edition I will put the Hebrew words next to the YOM that I use. I plan to have an interlinear format so you can see right there the Hebrew, the direct translation of each word and an English rendition of the Hebrew.

Although I am not a speaker of Hebrew nor able to read or write it, I have accessed the internet to locate assistance where needed. What I have laid out below might send Hebrew Scholars into fits of laughter or it may be a new way to analyze Biblical text. At the least it had been of great benefit to me in seeing the differences and similarities of the language and how it gets translated into English.

In future updates, there is yet another treatment where the Paleo Hebrew will be shown which will allow the reader to gain a deeper understanding of the Hebrew letters that get translated into the English day.

Criticism will be ignored if there is no suggestion of an alternate to what I have. If someone else has already done this study, kindly provide me a link to their work.

What Difference Does the Meaning of Day Make?

For those of you who are familiar with the English language, you would say that the word day means a 24 hour period. Thus when someone translates from a language such as Hebrew or Aramaic that a particular word means day they are setting you up to assume that they mean a 24 hour period. This may be an error which this book goes step by step to show otherwise, or else prove that the translation was correct, or that it cannot be determined with the knowledge that is available.
