    PROLOGUE

Bree tossed a rock into the icy waters of the lake. She watched the ripples, as countless others had before her, and reflected on how they kept on going.  Ever more faint, yet still there, reaching out slowly to a seemingly infinite horizon.  Everything she'd ever done was a ripple slowly fading inside her but some actions leave a trace bigger than others...

    CHAPTER ONE

Val handed the green drink to Bree triumphantly. Bree barely hid her disgust. What is this?

    It's my 'concoction'.

A 'concoction'?  You mean like a poison or something?

Drink it.  It'll put hairs on your chest.

Hairs on my chest?  Oh, that's okay then. For a minute there I was worried.

Val laughed. Just drink it already! It's easy, see?

Bree watched as Val downed the rest of the protein shake.

Ahhhhh! Val exclaimed with relish, the green liquid giving her a mustache.

Bree rolled her eyes, pinched her nose and chugged down the contents.

Go Bree! Go Bree! Go Bree! Val cheered, making circles with her fist.

Paaaaaggghh! Bree's shoulders quivered in disgust.

Oh, come on, it's not so bad.

What did you put in there?

Let's see, Val looked to the ceiling as if deep in thought and began counting on her fingers. Honey. Beet juice. Bee Pollen. Green magma. Shark cartilage.  What else?

Needs more shark cartilage, Bree said hoarsely, handing the cup back to Val.

You'll thank me later, believe me, Val said. My 'concoction' is gonna give you some energy   you won't believe. Now let's rock 'n roll.

    Bree
