A murder takes place at a restaurant and thanks to cameras and witnesses they have a slam dunk case. The captain of Robbery Homicide decides to use this case and have Michael appear as a guest star for the arrest to boost the ratings.

Sir and Mistress, the couple who committed the murder, have a long sordid background and live in Candido California on a 350-acre compound in the hills well outside of LA. The Killer

Three hundred million dollars is in a fund for the family members of those who died.  Most importantly, VF is the biggest home run we ever hit!  In the three weeks that it has been out we have done over one hundred billion dollars in sales between our video game, ‘Zombies’ and the goggles and online Xbox live signups.  Xbox live has added fifty million users since the rollout! BFF and HCP sales have slowed a little but continued to sell well.  Both ‘Our World’ and ‘Spy’ the movie and video game are starting production shortly.  Seneca is having a blast!  All of our shows on TV and cable continue to do well except for one.  And... Michael cut Jamie off.

Wait.  What show is not doing well? Michael asked.

Homicide.  The cop show where we are following homicide detectives around.

Why?

My guess is because it drags at times.  That team we follow on the show has captured 11 people now accused of murder but it is a process and doesn’t happen quickly.  There’s a lot of leg work that goes into a homicide investigation.  There are interviews and false leads which we have to follow up and film but nothing comes out of it when the leads don’t pan out.  That can bore the audience.

Why don’t we edit it out then?  Cut out the things that don’t lead to an arrest?

There would be a hole in the show then.  The police would look inept.  People would be home on the couch screaming at the TV and saying the cops have to interview so and so or canvas an area.  If we edit it out the cops we follow won’t look good.

Then in my opinion we have two choices.  We can tell the audience at the beginning of the show that we edited out parts that were not pertinent to the investigation or two we have special guest appearances!

Guest appearances?

Yes!  We have a huge roster of actors and actresses and music and recording artists! We can have them go on the show as interested observers!  It will give the people who do the guest shots face time and publicity and also get people to watch!  Imagine on the next episode of ‘Homicide’ Justin Timberlake stars!  The ratings would jump!

There would be a cost, we would have to get insurance on the stars that guest star.  At times there are dangerous situations that arise.

Yeah but that’s short term.  The guest stars will be on for a couple of days so it’s not that expensive.  We’ll also put them in bulletproof vests and other gear to protect them but no weapons except for a stun gun or mace. Jamie thought about it for a minute and then spoke.

I think we should do both!  We will announce at the beginning of the show that it has been edited only to relevant parts of the investigation that lead to an arrest and then we will start putting in various stars! That gave Michael a thought.

You know Jamie this gives me a thought!  Let’s open it up!  Put all of our stars whether they be actors, actresses or music and recording stars into guest appearances on all of our shows.  It will help pump up the shows but also create publicity for the guest stars!

It’s funny you should say that, I have been getting a lot of calls from people who have heard about the video game we are creating for Seneca.  They want us to create games for them!

I have something even more funny in a related note.  I got a phone call this weekend from Lady Go Go.  She is winding down her tour and after the cameo she did in the Robert Rodriguez movie she now wants to be a leading lady with a big role in a major picture produced by us.  She has the fan base obviously.  Erica suggested a video game.  I gave her the project of figuring it out to see what she comes up with.  I know she has been racking her brains since.

That is a good point, I am a widely recognized as the face of Unicom!

You would have to come out here a lot as the shows all shoot in our production studios here. You can be in Seneca’s movie and video game ‘Spy!’ I know she would love to see you! Michael knew Jamie was baiting him but he still got an instant erection.

But it would be fun!  We can throw together scenes with you and Johnny Deep or Lady Go Go or Seneca!  You can do cameos in all of our media properties jointly with other stars!  We can bring out your ladies, the twins, X and the nannies!  Everyone in your family!  Your face will be all over!  You will wind up on the cover of Time magazine and People!  It will be good for VF, BFF and HCP sales with the exposure you will bring!  Every day time in late night talk show will be hounding you to appear.  Every newspaper like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal will be begging for interview.  CNBC will want to make you a permanent host!  The reporters and paparazzi following you around will swell with more people, that’s about the only negative. Jamie responded. 

Okay but if I go on ‘The Closet’ there’s no way I will be a gay mobster!  I have to be heterosexual!  Michael laughed.

No all we have a mixed vibe there.  Some of the gay mobsters are more ruthless than the straight ones! Jamie laughed with Michael.

’Little Island!’ The star from ‘Island of the Damned’ wants to go away and recuperate after her experience.  She goes to an island in the Caribbean.  She leaves her resort and goes out into the streets and meets a voodoo shaman.  She doesn’t believe in that stuff. He casts a spell on her and sends her off with a special pair but of glasses.  She goes back to the resort and when she walks around everyone appears normal until she puts the glasses on, then all hell breaks loose! She sees the same people but everyone is now a midget!  Same couples, same clothing, same skin color and facial features but everyone is small!  When she takes the glasses off everything is back to normal!  She thinks she is going crazy.  Her best friend who came with her is fine until she puts the glasses on then she is Sue Ann Dillon. Sue Ann is not who she seems. She is actually the leader of a group who want to sacrifice her to their God!  They believe if they can do that they will all be normal size.  She spends the movie taking her glasses off putting them on to see who is around her and what their intentions are.  She becomes attracted to a hunk who works at the resort.  They become intimate and in the middle of having sex she puts the glasses on and he is a midget. She freaks out!  She is trying to grasp what is real and what is not. Sue Ann’s alter character when the glasses are off is trying to convince her she is seeing things.  Then she puts them on and Sue Ann is back.  We have to flip back and forth to keep the audience on edge and guessing what is real and what’s not!  We have to do this right! Jump back and forth from reality into maybe fantasy! Along the way little people are after her. They try and get her and she has to kill some of them who are aggressive.  When she takes the glasses off they are full grown people so switch back and forth!  Death, Mayhem, Graphic, Sex, Blood and Gore! We need to freak people out where they don’t know what is real!  You have to get a cast of normal size actors and marry them up to little people who look like them! Except for Sue Ann. For her you have to get a full sized actress who looks like her. If we do this right it should disturb people just like ‘Little’ did!  Simultaneous to that we make ‘Little Island’ the video game!  You are the star and you are being chased by the little people!  This if we do it right can disturb people the way ‘Child’s Play’ did back in the 80’s!  You being chased by little people in the video game would definitely be disturbing!

Holy Shit Michael!  Every time you come up with something I listen and picture it in my mind’s eye.  You are right, this would freak people out!  People are uncomfortable around little people.  They don’t want to but they stare, they can’t help themselves!  This is great, people will be seriously disturbed!

Meet with people from the ‘Little People’ organizations that boycotted the protested ‘Little’. Give them a donation to preempt any negative press from this.  Let’s get out in front this time.

We have a roster of actors and actresses and recording stars with our various divisions.  I want you to go to human resources and get a copy of the list of everyone we have.  Then maybe you can put someone else in and create the premise where it’s her and some other star together.

That is a possibility.  You are right, I don’t know all of our assets yet.  I will head over there right now and get a list and see what I come up with.

Don’t sweat it and beat yourself up.  You have only been here a couple of weeks and it does take time.  We do have a lot of talent that I believe would love to broaden their horizons and do something different.

I’m trying to buy two laboratories, one from Pfizer and one from Merck.  I am spending about sixty million dollars but they are state of the art fully functioning labs.  One on the East Coast and one on the west.  That’s important.  I have been meeting with a lot of potential staff but they need a destination to go to.  They don’t want to come into an office.

Once we close these deals next week I believe we will have at least half the staff’s we need right away.  I think we’ll fill them up quickly after that, people want to work with us!

Why?  What is your pitch to them?  What do you tell them?

It is actually very simple.  We are attacking cancer, all various forms and types.  If they come on board there will be no barriers to their own research.  The key is finding cures as quickly as possible!  Most of the scientists I have met are constrained with funding or equipment or space.  They hate being administrators.  They wanted just be scientists but in the big pharmaceutical world they can’t be.  We take care of all of the administration so they can focus on research.  Each lab will have a head administrator who will come to me with all requests and proposals and if they make sense the scientists will get what they need very quickly.  No red tape!

Smart!  I want them to focus on drugs and cures not bullshit!

I thought of my own experiences I had working at big pharmaceutical companies and what I would have wanted when I was just a scientist.

How about setting up your board of directors?

We have Barry, Carl Merieu, Jim Walding and Earl Lloyd so far.  We are talking about adding three more.  We have met with them and we are debating who to add.
