Heather is a drama novelist with an eclectic collection of work with kicks of comedy. She is currently attending Full Sail University and earning a Bachelor of Fine Art in Creative Writing. She pulls inspiration from her real life with three children and her retired military husband. Hey babe! How was it today? Julie called from the kitchen.

Tommy stood facing the hutch in the front hall. His right hand clenched the doorknob of the front door. Three final notice letters, overdue bills, and a foreclosure letter mocked him from the hutch. He tossed his keys down and rubbed his face.

Laughter echoed from the living room. Clink. He relaxed a little at the sound of teatime.

Dad’s home!

Emily and Sarah ran to the door. Princess crowns adorned their heads. Emily got to him first. As she squeezed his waist, her pile of necklaces bunched up on her cheek. Sarah was a bit slower because
