Preface
I'll keep this short.
Assembled here is a collection of thirty pieces of flash fiction and musicless lyrics. I use this latter term for two reasons: first, the word 'poetry' sounds a bit soft for my liking, and second, those were meant to be used as lyrics for a couple of music projects I was involved in a long time ago. Melodies or beats in taped or imagined form were their backdrop until a change of heart widowed them.
Virtually all the pieces here were pulled out of a folder on my computer labelled '98-'02
, a period in which I was in my late teens to early twenties. The flash fiction was simply my outlet while frustrated at being unable to carry a novel to term.
I decided to compile this slightly edited selection – in no particular order – because I thought it a shame that my efforts went to waste. I don't believe they are worth parting many coins for though.
The reason I chose these pieces over others was simply about picking the least worst. That's not to say I dislike what I'm sharing, but I couldn't sell you yesterday's leftovers as dish of the day.
In the event you don't like any of this stuff, after giving it a chance, I'll not have wasted much of your time. If you do like it, I'm glad. And thank you for reading.
I'm not going to do anything like this again. And another thing, this stuff isn't necessarily autobiographical.
