And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do . . . and all their brethren were at their commandment. (1 Chr. 12:32 KJV)

The children of Issachar were a tribe of Israel, and the Lord gives us a remarkable characteristic of this family in today’s scripture. They were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. What was the fruit of this precious spiritual ability? . . . and all their brethren were at their commandment.

What would happen if we had the ability to know what we ought to do to take our spiritual life or career to the next level? How would our family or marriage crises pass away if we had the ability to know what we ought to do? Like the children of Issachar, those who know the times of life will lead us and show us what we ought to do.

The wisdom to understand the seasons of life is a valuable gift from God. As children of God, we are privileged to have the Holy Spirit living inside of us. The Holy Spirit is the fullness of His wisdom and power, so God sent the Spirit to show you what you ought to do in every aspect of your life and guide you with Divine wisdom.

As a believer, you have better counsel than the children of Issachar: You are wired for greatness.
