    PROLOGUE

During His life on earth, Jesus Christ acknowledged that the Devil was the ruler of this world.

In Luke Chapter 4 of the New Testament, in the Holy Bible:

Before Jesus began His ministry, He was baptized in the Jordan river, by John the Baptist. Immediately afterwards, the Holy Spirit of God led Him to the wilderness. For forty days, He did not eat anything.

Afterwards, He was extremely hungry. Here, the Devil came to Him in person.

Then followed the three temptations of Jesus.

The Devil told Him that if He was the Son of God, Jesus could command the stones to become bread and satisfy His hunger.

Jesus responded by saying, that man cannot only satisfy his hunger with bread. Man’s hunger must be satisfied in obedience to the Word of God.

The Devil then took Him to a high mountain and in one moment showed Him the kingdoms of the world that would exist in ALL time.

And the Devil said to Jesus,"If you bow down and worship me, I will GIVE You all these kingdoms. For they belong to me. And I can give them to whoever I choose."

Jesus answered the Devil, You will worship the Lord your God, and only Him shall you serve.

The Devil brought Jesus to the pinnacle of a temple and told Him to throw Himself down from there. He added, that the angels of God would take care that He did not hurt Himself.

Jesus answered the Devil by saying that he should not tempt the Lord, his God.

The point in the above narrative is the fact that the Devil told Jesus to bow down and worship him and that the devil would then give Him the kingdoms of the earth.

Jesus did NOT refute or challenge the Devil on his claim that the devil had the ownership of the world and was in a position to hand the kingdoms of the world to Jesus.

Jesus had only responded to this verbal attack of the Devil by saying, You shall worship the Lord your God and only Him shall you serve.

Thus, Jesus, the Son of God, acknowledged, at that time, that the Devil was the ruler of this world.

    Part 1

    ––––––––

    Introduction

The Devil today is alive and well and continues to rule this world. We stay in a ‘fallen’ world. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour have entered into a place of grace on this earth, through His Blood, His death on the Cross.

However, this does not mean that the believers of Jesus have escaped the Devil in their daily lives on earth. On the contrary, the Devil fights believers of the Blood, furiously. He hates them even more!

    ***

A story goes of a man, John, who had strong faith in Jesus. John worked for a person called James. James was indifferent to Jesus, although he had been born into a family that worshipped Jesus.

Now James lived a comparatively problem-free life while John was besieged with issues that kept him on his toes.

One day, James asked his servant, John, how is it that you have such strong faith in Jesus Christ and seem to be loaded with problems, while I do not care to worship Him and live a comparatively problem-free life?

John said to him, Let me think of the answer and I will come back to you.

A few days later, James decided to go for a duck-shoot. He took his servant John with him.

As the flying ducks got hit, they fell to the ground. James yelled to his servant, Grab the hit ducks that are still alive. Leave the dead ones for now.  We will gather them in later.

    John had found his answer.

Later that evening, as James relaxed after the shoot, John told him, "Sir, I know the answer to the question you had asked me a few days ago. You had wanted to know why the Devil attacked me more than
