- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An excellent read. Although I sometimes got a little confused with the "act big" and the "don't act big" things. (I'm still not sure!)But I can tell you that his thoughts on being yourself, and owning it, are right on. I didn't learn this until I liberated myself from the traditional 9-5 workplace, and began to work a non-traditional nursing role. One that is totally autonomic, and allows me to set my own schedule. (I know, sounds too good to be true, right?) But being myself, and acting as myself, taking control of the here and now, is how I have come to live. At first I thought I was just living the "old woman" life. You know, the Grandma who doesn't care what she says? But it's not that. It's the 'I know what I want, and I'm going to make sure that's just what I get' that comes to the after 50 woman, and man too, I presume. So Hayzlett's theme seems to be the same as that which I have been living for a while now. And I love that he has a way of putting into words what I have often thought. I thought I was just being bitchy! You can succeed in life. But as Jeff says, you have to own that success. You have to act it. Be it. Live it. Once you realize that, the battle is already won. I give this book five stars and big thumbs up!
