About this ebook

Everyone has beliefs about their world, but it's a rare few who take the time to dissect their beliefs to make sure they are valid. A victory frame is a person's inner beliefs after they have been explored with a "fine tooth comb" in order to identify and remove destructive beliefs as well as adopt and implement helpful and life giving beliefs. After a person has done the hard work of constructing their own victory frame, they will have an organized set of beliefs that help them to operate more effectively in this world. Foundational Beliefs with the accompanying course at www.victoryframe.com is our first installment in the Victory Frame series. The main purpose of this course is to take you from a place of uncertainty and instability to a place of strength and confidence. In Foundational Beliefs you will learn the basics of beliefs and the Victory Frame philosophy, and you will learn about beliefs relevant to salvation. You are going to learn clear answers concerning death, eternity, justification, and assurance of salvation. Most importantly, we will establish the belief that Jesus is the key to our complete salvation. Adopting these Foundational Beliefs is pivotal to the construction of your entire Victory Frame.

The mission of Victory Frame is to drastically improve people's lives by providing clarity and structure to their inner beliefs. Victory Frame is useful to those struggling with mental illnesses including depression, anxiety, stress, panic attacks and any type of break from reality. However, Victory Frame is also useful to any Christian who desires to get a firm grip on what it is that they believe.

Victory Frame Book I: Foundational Beliefs

    Introduction

Before the age of 19, I had no idea how a person’s mind could get so messed up. The idea of becoming mentally unstable was foreign to me. In fact, I considered myself to be a rather strong minded person. The world was my oyster, and I had great expectations of what I would become. Little did I know I was slowly drifting away from the concrete reality that I had always taken for granted. You see, I have always been a deep thinker, a seeker of deep truths. This pursuit of truth led me deep inside myself, to the exclusion of others. It is hard for me to describe what was happening, but what I can tell you is that I began to look for truth everywhere with a completely open mind. As I did this though, I felt as if truth became more and more elusive. Even deep beliefs, held from childhood, normally directing me on autopilot were starting to breakdown. My interactions with people were becoming more and more distorted. I was so hyper self-conscious, that I eventually had to retreat to my room for fear of people finding out how messed up I was becoming. Then things really got scary. There would be times where I sensed the presence of evil. I literally got the feeling that my life was somehow in the balance of a cosmic court room of some kind. I sensed the presence of evil accusing me of every action I took as if it was wrong or evil. I felt guilty for everything. If I went and bought food at McDonalds, I felt guilt and accusations. If I wanted to go do something fun, I felt guilt and accusation. It was not logical, but it was emotionally potent to the level that I was not strong enough to disagree with my feelings. I didn’t know what I was experiencing, but I know throughout the entire period of my life I was determined to find the truth.

One evening in my apartment in Boynton Beach, Florida, I felt my heart beating like crazy. I had an overwhelming sensation that I was about to die. I remember being scared and thinking, Tomorrow my mom is going to wake up, and she’s not going to have a son. I was in my bed when the room I was in disappeared and I was surrounded by a hazy white fog. All the while, my heart was pounding and I felt as if I was being consumed by a holy fire. Then, unexpected and out of nowhere, I heard the omnipresent voice of God thunder saying three words: Take My Son. What happened next sent me into the darkest depression and the most difficult struggle of my entire life. I answered God and said, No, I want to do it myself.

To be clear, I did not grow up in the church. I have always thought very positively about God, but my stance on Jesus was that He was a great man who attained a powerful spiritual state with God. In other words, I saw Jesus as a guy who figured things out, and I had always wanted to figure them out too.

When I answered God the way that I did, I literally thought He was going to be proud of me for pressing on, and grinding away at finding answers. I assumed He was trying to help me the same way a father would help a child ride a bike for the first time. Me being the strong willed person I am wanted to do it myself.

The moment I said those words, No, I want to do it myself, my heart slowed down to normal, the holy presence and white fog sucked out of my room, and for a brief moment as the fog dissipated,
