Tonight is about pleasure and savoring it. But if you want it to be over with before it has even begun then I am not the one for you.
She stepped off to the side of the door and stared at him.
What do you want from me?
he asked with a puzzled expression upon his face.
All night. If you can handle it,
she smiled at him, glanced down at his cock and then back up at him with a wicked gleam in her blue eyes. She had just called his manhood into question, just as Madam Celeste had instructed her to do if a man was going too fast and only thinking about his pleasure. She wasn't a lady of the night. She wasn't getting paid to service his needs. This was about mutual pleasure. Will you be my love slave?
Yes,
he said huskily. What do you want me to do?
Scarlet thought for a moment about what she had witnessed over the past week at Madam Celeste's. What does any woman want? Pleasure. Orgasms. That's what I want.

Chapter One
It was done. She had been sold, by her own father no less, to a man old enough to be her grandfather. She would not cry. Not today. The tears were all gone. Spent on the wishful fairy-tale yearnings of her youth for a marriage built on love. There wouldn't be a prince charming coming to her rescue. She was resolved to her loveless fate. One thing had been accomplished by the deed. Her sister's were safe, as long as her father did not become greedy for more. They still had hope of finding the right man to love and marry and have a happily ever-after with him.
She glanced over at the man sitting quietly next to her in the carriage as it carried them to her new home. She took the time to study him as he slept. She had not had the nerve to do so before.
She could tell he had once been a handsome man, in his youthful years. A rake, even. Maybe he was not as old as she had first assumed him to be. Time and overindulgence could account for his older appearance, at first glance. But now that she was able to view him as he slept his features were softened and it gave him a gentler visage. But she knew he was in no way gentle. She had seen something in his gaze when he looked at her. She shivered slightly remembering those eyes on her. Awake his features were fierce and frightening. His hair was slightly longer than was fashionable for a man of this era. She wondered if he kept it that way to remember his youth, of better days gone by. The color was a mixture of black and gray. More gray than black. Even his neatly trimmed eyebrows were a blend of each color. His eyelashes were long and black. They rested on his slightly wrinkled closed eyelids. His eyes had been a piercing gray and hard as stone when he looked at her. He had the strong prominent facial bones that denoted he was an aristocrat, covered by pale skin that was beginning to wrinkle and sag with age.
She allowed her eyes to travel down over his cloaked form, taking in his wide shoulders that were encased in a black formal jacket with an underlying white shirt. Her gaze stopped and stared at his large hands that rested on his black clad thighs. They twitched in his sleep and she quickly glanced up at his profile as she heard a soft snore. He shifted in his seat and his eyes fluttered. She quickly looked away from him and stared out the carriage window. She did not want to be caught studying him as he slept.
She peered out the window at the passing scenery but she could not really see any of it clearly. The sun had set long ago. All she could see were those large hands of his, the backs sprinkled with a smattering of dark fine hairs. She tried to get the picture of them holding her down on the bed as he violated her body in the way her mother had described to her out of her head.
One of the wheels on the carriage landed in a particularly deep hole in the road suddenly and it jolted her sideways. She fell into the man, waking him up. He roughly shoved her away from him before she could move on her own and her shoulder slammed into the side of the carriage. Tears sprang to her eyes as she was overcome with the pain that had been inflicted upon her person. She blinked them away, not wanting him to see them.
Impatient for the night my dear?
he sneered cruelly. He looked out the window and then pounded on the roof of the coach. He yelled at the coachman to stop at the next inn.
A protest of denial came swiftly to her lips and she had to bite down on her tongue and press her lips tightly together to keep it from bursting free. He would not believe her even if she had voiced it. Nor would it have done any good anyway. After all it was his right to say such things to her. Her father had given him those rights over her. He was her husband now.
The coachman pulled into the yard of a small village inn a short while later. The carriage door was pulled open and her husband climbed out. He reached his hand back inside and said tersely come.
She placed her hand in his and allowed him to help her down the carriage's small step. He dropped her hand as soon as her slipper clad feet touched the ground and headed toward the inn's opened door.
Not willing to be left standing out in the darkened yard, she gathered her cloak tightly about her and quickly followed him inside. She was becoming to realize that even though her husband was the Duke of Granville, he was not a gentleman by any means.
By the time she had entered the inn he had the owner of the establishment bowing and scraping to accommodate his every wish. He showed them into a private parlor and bowing again said dinner will be served shortly Your Grace and your rooms will be readied for you and Her Grace.
At the duke's nod he bowed back out of the room and shut the door, blocking out the noise from the main room. The inn seemed to be the main gathering place for the village locals.
After you, my dear.
The duke motioned for her to take a seat at the table that had been quickly prepared for their use.
She took off her cloak and laid it over the back of another chair and then sat down at the table. It was early spring and the weather was still cool at night. It was warmer inside the inn than it had been outside in the coach, even though no fire burned in the fireplace. Rooms?
she inquired softly, peering up at him shyly from her lowered lashes.
Yes rooms. I have no intention of sharing your bed tonight, no matter how eager you may be to share them,
he said curtly. He took off his cloak and laid it over another chair and then proceeded to sit down at the table across from her.
That is not...I just thought...,
she stammered and then bit her lip anxiously, not knowing how to proceed.
I will not consummate our marriage in this hovel where there is no privacy. I will not have the locals gossiping about us once we have left here,
he sneered. You and your maid will have one of the rooms while I and my valet will have the other one.
He held up his hand to halt her from speaking. It was simply too late to continue onto Granville Manor tonight. That and only for that reason is why we have stopped here for the night.
Their food was brought in at that moment and put an end to any further conversation. They ate their meat pies and drank the burgundy wine that was provided with their meal in silence.
She was not upset with the arrangements, far from it. She was only too happy to have a reprieve from that aspect of her marriage.
When they were done with their meal she was led upstairs and shown to her room by Mrs. Thompson, the innkeeper's wife. His Grace had not even looked at her as she mumbled goodnight,
before she left the room. The only indication she had that he had even heard her was a slight nod of his head.
Here we are Your Grace. Will you be needing anything else?
Mrs. Thompson asked her in a kindly manner.
No, thank you.
Goodnight then Your Grace.
Mrs. Thompson bobbed a clumsy curtsy and then headed back downstairs.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly as she entered her room and shut the door. Her maid, Alice, was already there waiting for her.
No wedding night?
Alice asked quietly.
She shook her head.
Seeing the relieved look upon her face Alice said let us get you ready for bed then Scar.
Alice had known her since they were little girls. Her mother was Scar's mother's lady's maid and now that she was a grown married woman she needed a lady's maid of her own and Alice had been trained by her mother to take over that position. Alice felt more like another sister than a maid and she was glad to have a
