      Chapter One

      God, just stop being such a dork!  Talk to people, be normal.  Suck it up and socialize.  I give my reflection a stern look.  Determined.  Why do I have to be such an outcast?  The mirror doesn’t reply.  Bitch.

      I walk out of the bathroom and down the stairs to where a bunch of schoolkids are partying.  Inside, they’re dancing, making out, and drinking. I can’t dance, I’ve got no one to make out with, and I’ve already got a red Solo cup filled with beer, so I exit the backdoor onto the porch and look around.  About fifty people I recognize from my school fill the yard.  One group is chatting and laughing around the fire pit, another larger group is playing beer pong, and about ten boys and one girl are doing keg stands.  Not one person is standing by themselves.  I kind of hoped I would find a kindred spirit.  It’s not surprising that I’m shit out of luck.  I round the corner of the porch and
