Foreword
WARNING – Using pepper spray for reasons other than self defense is a crime.
WARNING – the information contained in this book is not to be considered legal advice.
Pepper spray is an excellent weapon for street use. Pepper spray is legal and it gives you the ability to repel an attacker, or even multiple attackers from a distance. Once an attacker is spiced up with pepper spray he will be brought to tears, and will often panic as he seeks water to relieve the burn in his eyes. This will allow the shooter (you) to escape.
As presented in the companion book, Street Fighting Tactics To Defeat Larger Opponents,
some threatening encounters might require the smaller combatant to strike first against a larger opponent in the form of a surprise attack. In this book, I suggest you let a shot of pepper spray be your first strike. This might require you to have your pepper spray already in your hand when you encounter a potential threat, or at least easy to grab and fire quickly. Once you spray, RUN, and call for help.
For those of you with some martial arts training, you may be inclined to use a side kick and/or a back leg thrust kick to keep your assailant off of you once you spray, however for self-defense purposes, I strongly recommend you do not engage your assailant physically; just spray, RUN, and yell for help. If you engage your attacker, you might fall or he might grab you. If he’s strong and grabs a hold you, you’re in trouble. Do not allow him to grab you. Keep talking, keep talking, and keep talking, while also moving and keeping your distance. While you
