Betrayal and Deception - Mackenzie Williams

    Chapter One

Connor watched Morgan as she leisurely swayed her ass back and forth. She was sorting some papers and files on the back table in his office. He had no doubt she was tempting him on purpose. She was lightly humming in time with her hips. Every so often, his plaything would look back at him with a small but flirtatious grin.

Damn you, sweet. Ms. White, you know I have a meeting in ten minutes.

Morgan casually stood up straight. She turned around, leaning back on the table. Her smile grew in size and naughtiness. While tilting her head to the side, Morgan's eyes flashed with humor. I know. Why?

Connor placed his hands on his desk and inhaled sharply through his nose. It was bad timing, but his cock didn't care. It was stiffening in his dress slacks. He lowered his head but kept strict eye contact as he pushed himself up off his chair. A low growl worked its way up his throat and her response was immediate.

Morgan's smile fell and she slowly bit her bottom lip. She took a deep but slightly shaky breath while rubbing her thighs together. She knew exactly what she was doing, there was no question. Connor removed his hands from his desk and took a step around it. Morgan stood up straighter, letting her head fall back just slightly.

I can't keep him waiting. He stepped closer to her.

I know, Mr. Slade. Her voice was soft and inviting.

He took a few more steps and then came to a stop inches from her. Morgan took another shaky breath as he reached up to grab ahold of her hips. Why are you trying to drive me crazy then?

Sir? Her head tilted back farther, begging him to kiss her neck.

He didn't disappoint. Connor leaned into her body. Morgan reached her small hands up to timidly hold his biceps. He kissed her neck and felt her tremble. He moved his lips up and left another soft kiss. Connor slid a hand down to her ass and squeezed, gradually getting harsher.

Mr. Slade? Her words were breathy.

He moved his lips up to her ear and whispered, My ill-disciplined plaything may need a reminder about office etiquette.

Connor pressed his hardened dick against her soft body and she moaned. He turned his head toward her mouth, wanting to kiss her fast and hard, but a sound soon had him motionless. A slow clapping was coming from his doorway. He clenched his jaw in irritation. His cock twitched in his gray slacks as Morgan stiffened in his hold.

Still the same old Connor. A male voice came from behind them and Connor recognized it instantly.

He didn't turn around right away as he spoke to his college friend. You're early.

Morgan twisted in Connor's arms, obviously slightly uncomfortable with someone else in the room. Connor didn't let her go for several seconds. She whimpered and he felt his cock twitch again. Damn it.

Finally, Connor released her and turned toward the intrusive man. Max Hall was strolling into his office with a knowing smirk. Connor shook his head. He wasn't angry, but his cock was. He shifted his legs in his pants, trying to make his erection less noticeable as he stepped away from Morgan.

She cowered behind him while he reached out his hand to Max. The men shook hands while Connor shifted his legs in his slacks again. Seriously, you're early. A grin finally lifted Connor's lips.

    Yeah, and you're an asshole.

    * * * *

Morgan was unsure what to do next. She wanted to slink out of the room without being noticed, but that was impossible. She decided to try and stay as hidden as possible until Mr. Slade made a move. She had no clue who the other man was. He seemed more like a friend than a business associate. Mr. Slade's calendar had only said Lunch Meeting with no other descriptions.

The mystery man appeared to be the same age as Mr. Slade. He was tall and handsome, just like Mr. Slade. He had coal black hair that was a bit too long for Morgan's taste. It covered his ears. The man briefly flicked his stare over her boss's shoulder, right at her. Even from a bit of a distance, she could see that his eyes were a bright chestnut color with darker flecks in them. She felt herself blush and immediately stared down at the floor. Those eyes.

I told that damn receptionist to call me before letting anyone head back here. Mr. Slade folded his arms across his chest and Morgan wished they were still holding her.

There was no receptionist when I got onto this floor.

    What? Damn it. She's new.

Morgan looked up, trying to keep her eyes trained on Mr. Slade. She frowned inwardly. The new receptionist was an older woman, maybe late sixties. Morgan doubted she would last here long. Mr. Slade didn't tolerate mistakes. Morgan should know. This made her frown lift. She at least got the added perks of punishments from her boss.

Well, do you want me to just take a seat and wait for you to finish off your secretary? I promise I'll be quiet. The man smirked and brought his stare back on Morgan. You know I like a good show.

She took a small step to the side, hiding more of herself behind her Mr. Slade.

Mr. Slade snorted before looking back at her. She looked into his eyes with a silent plea. He won't really do that. Will he? His smile reached his eyes and he looked so playful that Morgan was almost frightened of it.

He turned back to his friend while speaking. No, Max. Not this one.

Not this one?! Has he done that before with this man?

    Chapter Two

Morgan looked down at her hands and nervously twisted them together. She wasn't completely sure why she felt so uncomfortable with these two men. Maybe it was just the fact that this man obviously knew Mr. Slade in a personal way, not just business.

All right. Well, is she coming with us?

Morgan's heart dropped at the other man's tone. It wasn't exactly threatening, but it was close. She desperately wanted to reach up and hold Mr. Slade's hand for comfort, but she refrained. He turned and looked at her with a knowing smile.

After a few seconds, Mr. Slade turned back to his friend and answered. No. She has work to do. His tone was light, which calmed Morgan some.

    Then let's go. I'm starving.

Let me just take care of one thing. Mr. Slade paused and turned to look at Morgan. And I don't mean you, Ms. White.

Morgan's eyes darted around his face. She held her breath for a moment, just watching him. His smirk grew wicked before he leaned in to kiss her cheek. This felt very much like a boyfriend move. That thought had her breath rushing from her and it took some of her stress with it.

She gave him her best smile. She wanted nothing more than to wrap her arms around him, but she wasn't sure if that was too much for him in front of his friend. Mr. Slade turned back around with no more words for her. He took a few steps away from her and Morgan felt instantly exposed. Why was she so nervous?

"I'm going to go have a quick talk with my receptionist and then we can head out." Mr. Slade walked toward the door.

"Don't be too rough with her." Max snorted as Mr. Slade entered the hallway.

Does he know about Mr. Slade's office habits? Does he know about me?

Max turned back to face her while putting his hands in his pockets. Morgan had the strange feeling he was doing that for protective reasons. She couldn't explain why, though. It was as if he needed to hide his hands.

The dark-haired man went up on his toes before rocking back on his heels. It was meant to be a nonchalant movement, but it felt like anything but.

Morgan stared down at her hands again. What was she supposed to say? I'm being silly. She looked up at Max just in time for him to take a step toward her. Her breath caught in her throat for a few seconds.

His eyes seemed to be memorizing to her.

    So you're Ms. White?

She exhaled. Yes. Morgan tried to stifle the tremble that was working its way down her back.

I've heard nothing about you. Max raised an eyebrow.

Morgan was unsure if he was kidding or not. What was that supposed to mean? She said the first thing that popped into her head then. Where are you guys having lunch?

Max cocked his head to the side. It was as if he was asking her if that was really what she wanted to ask. He narrowed his eyes for a second. I'm not sure. Where do you suggest?

I ... I wouldn't know. This man was intimidating without trying.

He took his right hand out of his pocket and her anxiety spiked. Max held it out toward her. Well, it was nice to meet you, Ms. White. I better go find Connor.

Morgan hesitated before finally reaching out to shake his hand. Nice to meet you, too.

Max's eyes glinted in the office light. He held her hand a little too long for just a casual handshake. Morgan pulled her hand back toward herself before he had released it. Shit, now it looks like I'm trying to pull him to me. Morgan uneasily shook her hand in an awkward manner.

Max tilted his head to the other side and then finally let go of her hand. She spun around toward the table, inhaling sharply. With shaky hands, she grabbed some papers off it. She didn't know if this looked rude or not, but she just wanted him to leave. Seriously, what is wrong with me?

She finally heard the man starting to back away from her and she exhaled.

He then spoke while moving farther away from her. Ok, have fun with your work. I know Connor has high expectations.

    His words seemed to
