Digital Photography - Sara Ortiz
Introduction
Digital photography is a great hobby. Many people are just naturally interested in photography. Other people don’t discover their budding interest until they have children or an adorable pet that they dearly love. It doesn’t really matter why people decide to get into digital photography. It’s just a great hobby. The upside is that since it is digital photography, your pictures are saved on a memory card which gives you instant access.
There’s no more going to the film store or going to Wal-Mart or Wal-Greens to send off your film or pay more for one hour printing. If you have a printer, you can print off your photos whenever you want. You can send them to online businesses like SnapFish and have them printed at a relatively inexpensive rate. You could check out your local Wal-Mart or other retailer and find out if they have a kiosk (usually located back near electronics where they keep their digital cameras) where you can print your photos. In that sense, digital photography is much easier; this is especially true for beginners.
Some people who have been involved in photography for a long time enjoy developing their own photos on film in their own dark room. However, most people don’t necessarily have room to construct a dark room in their home. This makes digital photography an ideal choice for many people.
There is a downside to digital photography. Although it is more convenient in many ways, it isn’t necessarily any easier to learn than traditional photography. You still have to learn about cameras, shutter speeds, film exposure (despite not really using film), filters, and how to edit your photos. Whew! That’s a lot to learn...and that’s really scraping the
