Phyllis Krystal
Phyllis Krystal, born in England, was a practicing psychotherapist who developed a unique approach to therapy using symbols and visualization techniques to help clients detach from external authority figures and patterns. She taught people to rely on their own Higher Consciousness as guide and teacher. Phyllis lectured in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Tazmania, and was also a devotee of Sathya Sai Baba, the worldrenowned avatar living in India, whose teachings and personal influence offer her inspiration in her own work. Phyllis was the author of several bestselling books. She passed away in 2016.

PREFACE
Whenever I conduct a seminar on any of the many aspects of the work I have received, I always start and end each day by leading the entire group through the Maypole exercise, one version at the start and a shorter one at the end of each day. So it seems to be appropriate to lead whoever may be reading this book in the same way. This will give you a little taste of the method which developed so many years ago with my friend Virginia Lenney. In participating in this exercise to connect to your Higher Consciousness, Inner Guide, Real Self (or whatever name you would use to refer to It) and when practicing it in your daily life, you will find it to be of great benefit to you in many ways. We eventually began to use the term Hi C to refer to our Higher Consciousness.
So to begin, settle into a comfortable chair, or lie down if you prefer. If you are sitting, make sure your legs are not crossed, as this cuts off the flow of energy in your body. Place your hands with the palms up like little bowls ready to receive whatever the Hi C will give you. Imagine that in front of you is a tall Maypole with many coloured ribbons hanging down from the top. Imagine walking up to the pole and choosing a ribbon of any colour that appeals to you at that particular time (the colour does not matter). Then holding the ribbon in your hand, sit back down in your seat. Now look up to the top of the Maypole and ask to be shown an image that represents your Higher Consciousness. Then ask that relaxing energy be sent down your ribbon from the top of the Maypole. Breathe in as you receive this energy and as you breathe out, let go with your outward breath of any stress or tension whether physical, mental or emotional that you may be feeling. Take several deep breaths and breathe in this relaxing energy. Now ask to receive healing energy. Breathe in this healing energy, and as you breathe out become aware of any part of you that is not feeling well or whole. Next, ask the Hi C to send cleansing energy from the top of the Maypole down your ribbon to remove any negative memories, thoughts, feelings or conditions that you are ready to release. Take two or three breaths and ask for this process to continue as you read this book. Ask the Hi C for strengthening or re-energising energy to flow into you as you breathe in and exhale any weakness you are ready to release. Ask this to continue as you read this book. Finally, ask the Hi C to send its completely accepting and unconditional love to you. This is what you have all been seeking all your life whether you realise it or not. Breathe out any obstacles that prevent you from receiving unconditional love. Ask that this love continue to be sent to you. Finally, ask the Hi C to give you whatever guidance or insight will be helpful to you as you read this book.
INTRODUCTION
We appear to be going through a period of immense transformation in the economic, political and environmental spheres and many people are going through challenges in their own personal lives. As indicated by many of the world predictions, we are moving from one way of life to another and the old structures and patterns no longer seem to work and many people feel lost, without a guide to help point the way ahead.
Many people go through life facing immense difficulties unaware that this is part of an inner process of transformation and that if they are willing to accept and understand their situation, they are given the opportunity to learn from it. This book gives encouragement and incentive to people who are going through such difficulties. If they consciously use the tools that the method provides, they are able to cut the ties to whatever obstacle prevents them from living from the guidance of their inner Higher Consciousness, Thy will, not mine,
