    Great, I’m nearly 18.5 years old; I can soon apply for my dream job, a police officer. I’m counting down the months, the days; the clock is getting slower and slower as the brakes are administered in my reality. I am now writing to my local force for an application form to have it all ready to go as soon as the clock strikes midnight on my birthday. I watch every police TV show, I go to local police stations with family members who are police officers to sample the atmosphere to satisfy and chill out my obsession for this life and career. I eat, sleep and breathe this with intense focus. I am a protector and law enforcer from the inside out, regardless of how long it takes or to where it takes me, I will succeed and I will become what I have always wanted to become.

    I finally made it, after a few other dead-end jobs, not at 18.5 but at an older age, not with my local force but further afield. I had undertaken assessments, written tests, medical examinations and
