Kiss of the Vampire (Lesbian Paranormal Vampire Romance) - Javier Fabra
My name is Fiona and I was born in a secluded village in the Vampire Queen’s domain. My birth family did not expect much of me. I always thought of myself as a fairly ordinary young woman in what was an extraordinary world.
The vampires had triumphed and conquered the kingdoms of man. We were living cattle for Queen Rose. She ruled her newfound empire with an iron fist. Mortals would give her tribute in the form of virgins to sate her thirst.
I was ignorant of such matters due to my youth. I never aspired to rise to a higher station. This changed when one of the Queen’s handmaidens visited my village. They were the eyes and ears of Rose herself.
I could never forget the day the vampire handmaiden visited my quaint village. The town feared for the worst at the sudden appearance of a handmaiden. Their appearance was typically not a good omen.
Nonetheless, something was odd. The handmaiden had brought with her mortal servants from the castle of Rose herself to aid her search. The handmaiden was on the hunt for something.
Or someone.
The servants went house to house in search of their target. The thumbed over young girls like they were a piece of fruit in a market stall. Eventually, they were tossed aside for one reason or another.
Soon, they arrived at the doorstep of my household. I was faced with the handmaiden herself. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever met. I wondered if Rose was even lovelier. In that moment, I almost forgot that my life could have been at an end if upset her.
To my surprise, the handmaiden chose me. There were dozens of other, more beautiful girls than me at the village. Yet, they must have lacked something that I possessed. I wanted to question the handmaiden but I held my tongue.
It would be foolish to question our vampire lords.
I only knew that such deliberation and fanfare in choosing me would not have been required if I were to be drained of my blood. She had chosen me for a special task. I was told to leave with only the clothes I wore.
There were no time for tearful goodbyes as I left my family for the unknown.
First, by carriage and then by boat, I arrived at a large castle. I didn’t have much time to get settled in before the handmaiden whisked me away. I was to be cleansed and prepared for my task.
Stripped of my clothing, I entered a large bath. As a commoner, I was unused to such luxuries. My appearance was at odds with the finery on display.
A pair of human servants cleaned my body with bath stones and hot water. They scrubbed my body clean of dirt until my
