AS THE CAR ENGINE CLICKS to cool down, my mum and I are greeted by the gurgling sound of the Afon Sawdda river. I inhale the mountain air and smile. I love the wild, remote, barren beauty of this hilly landscape on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. It is easy to see how the Welsh lady of the lake story evolved from this magical place.
