Ella wasn’t sure how long she and Shay would last in the skies, especially since the aliens were aware they had stolen one of their flying ships. She hoped the trip to Atlanta would be uneventful, but there was no guarantee the extraterrestrial beings would be so accommodating. As a matter of fact, she expected the space invaders to blow them out of the sky at any moment.

Her mind zipped through the alien network, connected to the mother ship and other pods. In her head, she saw what the other aliens saw, where they patrolled, that they were very much aware of her and Shay’s not-so-elaborate escape. That they were coming after them.

And they were both just beacons in the sky, pinging on the alien’s radar, showing them exactly where they were, and in which direction they were headed.
